My theroy about them being in the hotel together. -

I think on Jay's 'Quest' to find Alex, he met Jessica and he and her encountered Sm. While trying to explain to Jessica, he showed her the video's.

The pills, it could be for the cough that Jessica had, (Possibly Slender-sickness)

They wanted a break, so they went to a hotel and got adjoining rooms so they can be in contact quickly in case anything came up. Maybe, just maybe that's when their memory was wiped.

My theory is probably 100% incorrect, but I'll continue adding to my theory as new things happen.

I second the idea that Jay could see the visual tearing on his camera as Jessica spoke. Near the end there, it was even strong enough that Jay could have not been paying attention to his camera at all, and then see it out of the corner of his eye.

and, just gathering up some thoughts here, my friend and i are tempted to agree with the "jay was a masky during his MIA period" theory. not knowing much about the seven months makes it easy to have doubts about it, but my reasoning is this: the fact that jay and jessica woke up relatively safe and sound in some hotel suggests to me that they had been working for the other side while not in their right minds. after all, in entry ###### totheark specifically says the words, "control is being taken away from you." i'm thinking jay was apprehended on his mission for good, used, and then dumped.

Two thoughts that JKat didn't already cover (thanks for putting those up!)

I feel like the talk of arks and Jay leading TTA to the ark last season has been left dangling:

Could Jessica have come into Jay's company because she is also looking for the ark? Or was passed on by someone else who knew that Jay could lead her to the ark?

The hotel having 'just staff' AND the two of them seems weird; if it were JUST Jay and Jessica, I think it would make a little more sense that they were in, say, some Operator-twisted dimension.

But I have to wonder... is the hotel the ark? And the fact that they are there now means that Jay found the ark after all, but now has put that place in peril (either by viewing No Entry, or by Jessica's infiltration whether she is doing it purposefully or not...)?

I'm only stating this because the hotel being empty aside from staff makes it feel like it's waiting for people, ready to take care of basic needs. If it was completely empty, I'd feel less like that was the case.

Did anybody else notice that Jessica seemed to hesitate when J said to keep her door open?

could just have been her having a glitch in her mind for a second, but I dont know.

OK, so obviously it'd be easier to list the lines that *aren't* distorted, rather than the ones that are, and it seems to have ties to Jessica's emotional state, which may be a side effect of H1-MH.
JKat is right, it looks like a slender-shadow near the end of the video, but that's as-of-yet unconfirmed.
