Has anyone yet noted that the entry on the Marble Hornets Twitter page:

"Entry #32 is being uploaded now."

Continually says:

"less than a minute ago via web"

That happens to some people sometimes! For me it says "13 hours ago", but there were a couple of tweets back in the day that did the "less than a second ago" thing for me for a while. It'll eventually go away!

Hi everybody, now I feel that we have failed to really get into what Jessica was saying that would freak J out... example:

"I keep having these nightmares where im a little kid and something's watching me" and all that

Now, what if J is having the same dreams? Would that not freak anyone out if they were having the same kinds of dreams, I mean, that's about the point in the video where J starts freaking, I think it's reasonable to say he is having dreams about the same thing.

Does anyone else think that the 'I'm giving up on the safe' thing is less of a 'it's not important', and more of a 'the community has failed to solve it, so I'm letting it go' thing?

@Acora- Gosh, I hope not. We've been trying so hard! Me not as much as others, but still.

@FallenTraveler- AH! That sounds really reasonable, and would be an awesome way for things to turn out!

That is a huge leap of logic, however! There is a lot about Jessica's speech that could freak Jay out -- assuming that it's specifically the dream thing seems too close to discounting the rest of what she says. Everything she speaks of suggests she's being stalked by the Operator in some form, which seems way more likely to me to be the reason Jay is freaking out.

Maybe he is also having dreams. Maybe not. This entry doesn't suggest one or the other, either way. If he was freaking out specifically about the dreams, we would have been given more specifically about that.

Mentioned that some pages back, yep. It's a distinct possibility. :c I hope it's not the case though.

Only reason I put that out there is because I can't think of any reason why he would introduce the safe, make it seem important, and then completely get rid of it, unless he figured that there wasn't any chance of us figuring it out soon.

Hi! Long long long time lurker, decided to make an account and join the shenanigans. Very Happy

Anyways, Jessica freaks me out. I'm not sure why. Something about the way she's acting makes me scared of her. She's sort of...dodgy? I just get the distinct impression she's not sharing some things. I don't know.

Also, as someone else said before, maybe Jay's been having similar dreams to the ones Jessica described. He had an uncharacteristically strong reaction to that bit, what with the whole "stop" thing. Then again, maybe that was just his reaction to the sudden realisation that Slenderman is probably incredibly close.

I really hope the "giving up on the safe" business doesn't actually mean we'll never find out what's in the safe. You guys have been trying SO hard to get the solution to the safe conundrum, and I think we all really want to know what's in there. :< Maybe Jessica will end up knowing the combination? ...Or the hotel staff? I don't know I'm grasping at straws here in my desperation to find out what's in the safe. I'm just so curious!

Anyways, also, I just have this mental image of Slenderman/Masky having a little tea party in the room next door to Jay right now, ears pressed against the wall as they giggle over the panic they've caused.

ANYWAYS, I'm done with my rambling now.

TL;DR Jay is so dead.

I had the pretty cynical thought that he may have thought the safe would be a good plot element, then couldn't think of anything to do with it so has written it off. I dismissed that almost straight away though - got way more faith in MH than that!

JKatkina wrote:
Huh! Bad MH fan here: I can't remember when he said that. Can you point me in the direction of that statement?

Now that you mention it, I can't think where I specifically remember Jay stating that, so I may be wrong. I'm pretty sure I'm not imagining it though. I'm currently trying to write a 2000 word essay on fairy tales otherwise I'd review the videos to try and see if my memory's playing tricks on me.

Can anyone else support/negate this for me? If I'm wrong I owe JKat a beer.

So, Jay said leave the door open because as we learned in season one, some doors don't lead where you think they do. Maybe the reason the dream thing freaked him out: he said on his twitter that he couldn't sleep, maybe it was because all the nightmares? Very Happy

I was intrigued by mantisbot's research on ibuprofen. It helps with amnesia? Thats new to me, and I guess they were expecting us - in all our over-analysation glory - to have discovered that day 1. If jay started taking it months ago it might be what knocked him back to reality. If he's stopped taking them I expect a relapse.

Oh, the ibuprofen doesn't help with amnesia, it helps with headaches caused by shock treatments. Shock treatments can cause amnesia similar to what Slendy/Masky victims experience (IE - unable to form memories, lose memories of the past). I just thought the ibuprofen would be around to help with the pain from the shocks. Notice that his bottle had no seal, which means he must've taken/been administered a few at some point. Also, thinking back to the state that he woke up in, there must've been one hell of an electromagnetic event in that room to totally screw up the in-room tube television. It would be interesting to find out if Jessica's is similarly dysfunctional.

Also, a theory as to why J asked Jessica to keep the door open: his teleportation experiences in The House. Remember how he opened one door, walked through, and appeared in another part of the house? Perhaps the doors work in the way the doors in Matrix 3 worked. Open them without the proper key and they work normally. Work your mojo and open them again, you end up in some weird freakin mansion in the mountains.

Another theory, this one about the contents of the safe: I'm thinking it does contain videos or information about J's lost 7 months. However, they won't be tapes most likely. He's always stored video footage on his computer digitally, rather than on DV tapes like Alex. A couple of ideas for the combination of the safe of mine would be some kind of combination of J and Jessica's room numbers. His is 209, hers is 211. My first guess seems ridiculous, but adding them together you get "420." Putting a "0" in front of it doesn't change its value, so "0420" would be a guess. I would also guess "1820," that being the two "9's" added together and put in front of the sum of 9 and 11. My final guess would be either the last 4 digits of the number of the person Jessica was talking to on her cellphone when J walked past her in the hall or the last 4 digits of the number of her cellphone.

However, we may have lost our chance on that puzzle.

A couple of other things I just dug up... The first from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electroconvulsive_therapy

"The aim of ECT is to induce a therapeutic clonic seizure (a seizure where the person loses consciousness and has convulsions) lasting for at least 15 seconds."

Anybody remember what happened to Masky when he chased J in The House? Yeah, that's right, he started convulsing and seemed to pass out for a few seconds. He seemed to have quite the supply of ibuprofen on hand before...

-=- Edit -=-

Although, seizures are also a side-effect of taking too much Ibuprofen...

Info from here: http://www.drugs.com/ibuprofen.html

"severe headache, neck stiffness, chills, increased sensitivity to light, and/or seizure (convulsions)."

-=- End Edit -=-

Also, check out the "Patient Experience Section" from the previous Wiki link. Good stuff in there.

I personally think Jay and Jessica are not going to escape the hotel that easily. Maybe there will be some time-space warping shenanigans? Also, for people talking about Jessica looking about in her state of panic, I've been in hysteria before, and it's hard to concentrate on the person you're talking to, since you're so scared. Also, I think Jessica's really trying hard not to cry. Good job for her, because I wouldn't have been able to handle that sort emotional pressure.

Anyways, I honestly think Jessica is a true victim here, along with Jay. I might be wrong, but that's just what seems to click in my mind best.

Why are people convinced the safe and the hotel are done for? I doubt a mysterious hotel that only has the two of them is going to let them leave that easily.

And the whole "WE didn't solve it fast enough" for the safe theory is ridiculous. There hasn't been any point in the series so far where we've had to solve a mystery for Jay, they'd make it more obvious we HAD to do it then that. I think people forget this is more of a video series than an ARG. Because of how linear the storyline is, I don't think they have ROOM for the chance the viewers don't open a safe in time or whatnot.

I'm convinced the safe holds a stack of tapes from before Jay and Jessica's memory got wiped.

If I'm counting right, this is the 50th Marble Hornets release (32 entries + 15 TTA videos + 3 miscellaneous). Probably not intentional, but a nice touch to have such a momentous entry for this occasion. Laughing

Jess and the distortion had me at the edge of my seat for most of the video. Seriously, that was chilling. Also, kudos to Troy for keeping himself consistent; the way J's breathing and camera movements changed was reminiscent of Entry #23. Really effective.

J saying that he's going to ditch the safe is just proof that it's still important, IMO. He would have just forgotten about it otherwise, I'm sure. I know he did essentially the same thing with the bullet casing, but that thing was a clue in its own right; the safe, if ignored, would serve no purpose. I really doubt it's going to be left hanging forever.

Agreed on the safe. Bringing it up again seems from and OOG perspective to be more of a hint/reminder that it's still lurking back there. I think there's a good chance Jessica knows something about it, or possibly even the code, although she may not remember. Maybe she has it written down somewhere with no clue what it means. xD

Oh mah word! I'm really looking forward to the next entry Very Happy

And lol @ the comments on Jess's smirk - I thought it was pretty realistic? She was heading into hysterical and the mouth does warp into a kinda creepy smirky smile when you're in that state. I also think her performance in this entry has been the best of any MH actor so far! Jay has improved a lot, but he still seems incredibly wooden during his awkward chats with her.
