Has J ever actually encountered Slendy? We aren't even sure it was him filming in 'noentry' so far all he's encountered is totheark and all of Slenderman's appearences have been in past tense in the entries. In a way, slenderman hasn't showed up for quite some time. We don't even know when entry 29 was supposed to have been set. Since the entries were a few years ago, 29 could have quite recent or it could've been filmed just after Alex vanished. If you look at it like that, Slendy hasn't actually shown up for about 4 years.

Okay, gotcha on both, sorry. But can someone show me a screencap in #23 of about 6:51 before it goes mental on you and goes mega distrotion? because I see slendy's shillouette but theres no way to actually make him out before the distortion kicks in

I gathered that, he's painfully obvious to see with his shillouette on the almost flaming background, I mean before it in that second before it goes all blue and black.

Cheers, theone. Yeah, thats about as good as I got with freezeframe. I feel they could've done that a bit better, gave us a 0.5 second glimpse of him at least first.

And there's something I want to ask, something of all of you. Taking what we know into account. Do any of us think this could possibly end well? I mean in the end? Just one kid with a camera. Do you somehow think he'll escape Slendy for good?
Or perhaps think just him and his camera will find a way to destroy the superpowerful interdimensional being stalking him once and for all?
No... I think we all know this will end up with the 'cut to black' abrupt and sad ending.
There's no way they'll eventually beat Slenderman.

It's sad to say, but we all know they're as doomed as the kids who think they'll beat death in the Final Destination films.

Hell even if the US millitary had researched him for a hundred years and looked into anti-slendy weaponary and had some nukes with his name on 'em, I'd still be doubtful.
But that's the probalem with Slendy. You can't run, you can't hide and you can't fight...

Though I'd love (seriously) some thoughts on how this wouldn't end with the 'Final Destination we think everything's alright but oh look it isn't twist' end.

Personally, I think, with the antagonist portrayed as he is, managing to pull off the good ending on this one will be the true mark of a good storyteller.


EDIT: Interesting, all this time and no replies... Did I just kill off all hope?

I agree. Killing him, impossible. Preventing his appearence however appears to be the key. Alex seemed to have pulled it off for some time and wierdly didnt seem freaked by the operator's reappearence. He was so calm it was odd.
When Slendy appeared, he didnt panic, he grabbed the camera and said 'get out in the street, I'll be right behind you!' and he focused the camera on him.
This wasnt the nutty paranoid Alex from before, this was the Alex who had narrowed Slendy down to an annoying inconvenience like a wasp nest in the house that is his life.
I think Alex figured out a way to keep Slendy at bay. Not fight him, but at least keep him out of his life. Though perhaps by hanessing that and locking him into some cycle by recording him or such in some way that could prevent him from ever manifesting again may be the key. But yeah, I still think Alex is J's best hope as of yet. But until he does... He still has Masky's and Slendy's standing right in his path.

I would like things to end well. I think we'd all be relieved if things ended well. That's not the same as thinking they will, though.

When we're faced with these sorts of nameless, unknowable horrors, even in fiction, it's hard even to imagine how things could possibly end happily. We can't fathom it. It seems impossible, and indeed, right now it does. Especially right now.

But I don't think we should give up hope. I think that we can still hope that somehow they find the Operator's silver bullet or something. Even as we watch, unable to conjure up any scenario in which Jay, Jess, Alex, Tim, and the rest could ever live happily again... we can sit here hoping our faces red that that isn't how it ends.

OK, if TTA was still alive (and I have no proof of this mind you, only wild conjecture) I'm pretty sure he would have uploaded already. what if masky was something new? Something Alex hadn't encountered during his time? Masky could very well have been what finally got Alex. Still pretty sure Masky isn't TTA, and pretty sure that Jessica was Alex's GF seen shooting Alex with the camera. She may turn out to have the location of something that Alex had hidden away, and as it turns out this something has the combination to a certain Safe, which is in a certain Hotel, and they have to go back, only to find the safe now empty, Masky (who is currently Jessica) taking whatever was inside, which was protecting the Hotel from Slender who comes for Jay, who was recording on a webcam, it goes blank as he turns around. End of Season 2.
