[SPEC] The Safe
A single place to place all theories

Ok, so, we've discovered the contents of the safe, it was several tapes, and the safe had the word attention written on its inside.

So, now I suggest we use this thread to keep track of all other theories, a 'safe' if you will, to store the theories we've collected.

so let me know about all current theories on this season.

----------Current Theories-----------------

Teleportation out of J's room. When being chased by masky in entry 33 position of both doors and a hallway further down, it has been suggested that j and masky somehow teleported to the two rooms further down. Specifics vary depending on whom you ask.

Let me know about more, either on this thread or in a PM.

I think the possible codes should be quoted into this thread, because it might tie-in with the rest of the theories.

That's not a bad idea, though the theorized combinations are always changing. Maybe a link to the combination thread in the first post would be better!. I don't see a problem with there being a separate thread for the safe itself, I suppose, though the speculation on it won't really be based on any particular evidence thus far! They ain't giving us much.

At the very least, link to the other threads which contain safe info for ease of access in the first post. Helps avoid clutter and to stay relevant.

I linked to the thread about possible combinations, it's in the first post. Any other threads? And we can at least get all of the current theories on this thread and say what info it's backed by if any. We can also put up if any theories have been officially disproved.

Working from the idea that j and Jessica may have info they need to share with each other, I've got a couple of code guesses.

From their room numbers, 209 and 211

0420 : the sum of their door numbers with a "0" put in front.

The last 4 digits of the number that called Jessica when she was on the phone as J passed her in the hall.

The last 4 digits of Jessica's cell number.

Jessica's birthday (assuming her month and day are both single digits and we write the year in the 2 digit style).

Other than these, I'll just Jaffa wait and see.

Just from what other folks have said, the main ideas of what might be in the safe are:

1. Tapes/Flash Drives of clips of the last seven months
2. A Mask
3. All the money Jay's using to pay for his ridiculous Hotel-hoping lifestyle.
4. The last golden ticket to get into Willy Wonka's factory

(Protip: Not really the last two)

I'd considered it being a mask, but I'm pretty sure it's the tapes, either way, i'll go ahead and put those in the OP

Also, a TTA-type message was mentioned briefly, if I'm recalling correctly.

Have we ever considered the theory that nothing is in the safe? That it's a horrible, frustrating red herring? I don't know how these things work in hotels, as I've never rented a room with a safe in it, but if you rent the room with the safe, but don't ask for use of the safe, is it left closed and locked like that? It could be that Jay, upon awakening, saw the safe, assumed he was using it and tried to open it accordingly?

Now, I don't think this is the case -- I'm reasonably sure Troy and Joseph wouldn't spend time in more than one entry on something that ended up irrelevant (at least not anymore *coughbulletcasingcough*), but for the sake of completeness, I thought I should bring it up.

As somone who has stayed in Many hotels through Many of the states of Amurica, let me say that whenever I've stayed in a room with a safe, it has almost always been sitting open (with a little sheet of instructions pasted on the inside of the door). So yes, I think we can assume there's something in it.

Unless, of course, Jay closed it for kicks and giggles, but somehow that doesn't strike me as very Jay-ish.

considered this, and I have to admit, if they just happened to rent this Hotel room and found the Safe still locked from the last guy and thought, 'lol, lets put it out there and see if they can guess the combination!' I kinda doubt that though, even the bullet casing had some relevance (bullets can't hurt Slenderman and masky has ADD and saw a shinny thing)

Off topic, but Lolz at everyone who got obsessed with the pills, it was before I got here, so i didn't get a chance to mock them then, but its a little like I am The Cheese, everyone got obsessed with the pills, and they were just Ibuprofene, I'm a little scared of that happening with the safe

Okay! Good to know. Very Happy I guess we can definitively strike "nothing" off the list, then. Whew.

I think it's gonna be:
1) Tapes of the previous 7 months
2) Provided Masky isn't dead, a tape of Masky taking whatever was originally in the safe (which is probably 1 or 3)
3) J's Notes

Okay, I'm gonna have to explain the last one, and it'll probably end up being a huge wall-of-text, so I apologize in advance.

I think that the Operator emits a sort of electro wave like the kind used in Electroconvulsive/Electroshock therapy (probably the more dangerous sine-wave), which would explain the distortion on the cameras, the ibuprofen, and the memory loss. Camera distortion is obvious.
Ibuprofen is usually administered after ECT sessions to deal with the headaches that can occur (I think J tweeted/said in one of the entries that he had massive headaches--I know Jessica said she did in 32). This theory also assumes the Ibuprofen J found wasn't just a red herring--it was something for us to look into.
Memory loss: I think that the events of noentry happened months ago, and with that event, J developed Anterograde amnesia (where you can't develop new memories) in addition to the more common (in MH) Retrograde amnesia. This would explain why he can't remember /anything/ from the past 7 months, and a couple of recent slip-ups (there hadn't been any sign of Slendy until 32, so what was making J forget that he told Jessica about the documentary/house/job? It wasn't that he was forgetting, the lingering anterograde amnesia prevented him from making those memories in the first place). To deal with this, J probably had something like a notebook that he kept with/near him which held information about his findings, and maybe something like "there's this girl, Jessica, in the adjoining room that got dragged into this mess. She's over there because I won't remember her in the morning, and I don't want to freak out because there's someone else here before I read this" and it would continue from there. I'm assuming we'll figure out everything J figured out before we find the notes in the safe, though.

And yeah, there's more to my (probably wrong) theory, but it's a little OT for a Safe thread >>
