Oh god, way to go HABIT. You managed to combine my fear of public speaking, the fact that there are no public places around here, and the fact that I cannot record and stand on crutches into one lovely package.

MAKE IT WORK.

bring a chair to sit on? have someone drive you somewhere busy? (you could always have someone drive really slowly through a busy area and yell the poem out the window while you record...

i still don't know what i'm going to do, myself...probably stand in a random hallway with a "WARNING: BAD POETRY READING IN PROGRESS" sign behind me and turn it into some batshit performance art. performance art is fun.

(if i can't get through it without giggling maniacally, do you think that'll count against me?)

Crazy laughter gets you bonus points. Or rather, it would, if HABIT gave out points.

This trial really makes me wish I had signed up for them (and that I was paying attention to this when it started). Reciting the poem would be easy for me, as I'm a good public speaker and we just had a poetry unit in my Composition/Literature class. Bah.

Go to your local library, sit in the story chair, and read aloud to 10+ children. When security escorts you out, ask politely if you can have a copy of the tape?

It occurred to me today that maybe Habit will rig it so no one wins. Something that had occurred to me earlier than that, though, that I saw you guys discussing a couple pages back, is that OOG I don't think they'll be able to assign anything too horrendous for fear of someone actually going through with it (at least, I hope they would take this fear into account). So hopefully things like 'carve my name into your arm' or 'poison the neighbor's dog' are out.

So, guys. You all know how HABIT signs all his e-mails and some of his tweets, of course. Like the end of a letter but he doesn't write his actual name. So we get things like "REGARDS," and "SINCERELY,".

Look again at the end of the poem. For one, the whole thing uses proper capitalization instead of CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL. The second thing is the signature at the bottom. "With love, Habit."

This could be completely insignificant, I know, but I don't feel like it is.

I have a feeling that the reason the poem was done with this format was to prove that HABIT is an entity who does know how to conduct itself differently than we expect. I can't help but feel like this is a precursor to some form of terrible terrible knowledge regarding HABIT.

I think Habit is trying to prove to us his humanity, even as he takes that from the rabbits. (Should we be calling him Habit now that he's done it?)

DAMMIT MIRA, HOW DID YOU DISCOVER MY PLANS?!

Dude, insert it halfway through a Dr. Seuss book and no one will even question it until it's too late.

That would totally work. The kids probably wouldn't even notice that it was out of place.

After all, they love their Green Eggs and HABIT.
