It's not really that brave. A lot of the really awesome patterns I'm interested in are pretty expensive and complicated. This way I can get it for free and sort of dumb it down for myself. See what works well and whatnot. And yep, muslin for the mockup.

Oooh. I've been wanting to make a Renaissance dress for awhile, but I'd have nowhere to wear it to :/ Do you have a picture of it?
