But that's fine, I enjoyed reading. :3

I...wish I had more interesting things to say.

The only thing I have to say has probably been discussed to death, but I wanna throw my 2 cents in anyway. *dodges projectiles*.

I like the idea of Slendy being a...kinda-sorta benevolent force. But more like "if I can't hurt them, no one can", or rather: "no one hurts them but me", I guess. I think that theory lodged itself into my brain after the Corenthal report that talked about 70's!Vince and the creepy old man. :< Slendy doesn't share.

Also, I'm going to hunt down this something- Cove creepypasta. I think I read it at one point (a year or so ago, maybe?) but I can't remember it very well. Maybe I should wait till morning... nah.

edit: sorry, I know this is off-topic, but that creepypasta: wth. I mean, when I read about The Rake I was like "mreh", but something about this one really unsettled me. And now I understand why everyone is reminded of it. (of course, I'm weirded out by tv static anyway. Between The Ring and Slenderman distortion...)

Ok, going back through a few of the videos and the wiki, I have come up with a few questions. Perhaps these have been covered previously, but finding anything even through a search on this site at this point with all the different SM stories going on is worse than trying to find a needle in a haystack. I have tried looking. I apologize in advance if I'm trouting anything.

I read that Alex and Jeff's parents were dead and that they lived alone. We know someone says "goodnight" in a recent vid, but in the Alex video, they go upstairs so as to not discuss anything in front of Alex's parents and you can distinctly hear an adult male's voice in the background and we know Jeff was supposed to be asleep.

In the most recent vid, aside from the admittedly beyond creepy Candle Cove references, I noticed the use of the word treasure by Damsel. I know this is a stretch, but since it's commonly believed that the u-stream events are IG, then I might be onto something. In the same vid that Rake or HABIT appears, Jeff makes a point to say that his desk hides hidden treasures and even shows us a couple of them. Might be nothing, might be something worth looking into.

Last, am I the only one who finds it odd that Jeff so nonchalantly places a blade down on Alex's table in the Alex vid almost as to frame him for trying to slash his own wrists and was so alert for being asleep seconds before. We've heard Evan say that someone has tried to get him to do horrible things to his friends and family, could Jeff have done something to his own brother?

Sorry for the wall of text. Just questions I found myself asking outloud.

Now this, I can address, but maybe not to the extent you were hoping. Jeff said after this incident that he had the knife on him for his job, and had fallen asleep with it on him. Which, with as little sleep as he's apparently been getting, I find absolutely believable. It might become a plot device later on, but as it is, I'd say to let sleeping dogs lie. If it pops up again later -- worry.

 		So, looking at that the video when the shadow comes in, something occurs to me.

1) There is no audio distortion. Normally, when Slendy is in the area, the audio freaks out. The video wouldn't due it not being focused on him. Also, that shadow moves way too fast. The only time Slendy has been known to move quickly in the mythos was when he ran with his tentacles (or if you count him chasing Alex in MarbleHornets through the fields. I don't count the shadow in alex's room in MH either)

2) There is no heavy breathing. When Rake has been present, there has been really loud breathing alongside him.

This leads me to believe that neither shadow belonged to neither character. Everyone of note was present in front of the camera (except Alex I think?), so, is it HABITS true form? Is it yet another player introduced that could cause the cast to immediately have a flashback? Given that they just watched Candle Cove, it's not completely out of the question that they'd throw another creepypasta reference in there too, is it? (Skin-Taker? I'd lol.)

So, for arguments sake, (and to give us something to do until we find out what happened in Alex's room), do we know of any other Creepypasta antagonists that could possibly be involved in this?

Also, odds on there being a 'BEN' reference at some point in the future?

Someone (fogletplume, I believe) put forth the theory that JeffnAlex's parents weren't always dead. The theory goes that the parents were around for majority of the videos up to a certain point, then they got Slenderkilled and Slendy did some mindwiping to make the gang all think that their parents had been dead for a couple of years. (Alex "pretends" his parents are still alive because the mindwiping didn't quite take with him, and he's not adjusting to the new reality as well.) More details in the "clean" notes in my sig line.

Actually, in EMH, Slendy does not always cause distortion. In the "clean" notes I have linked in my sig, I've got a list of every Slendersighting and the resultant distortion. The short version of it is that it seems like distortion is only triggered when he's using some kind of Slenderpower.

I've suspected something similar for awhile. The gaffe on the parents/oops no parents was too huge to be an OOG mistake IMO. Say what you will about EMH but I've never noticed them not be meticulous about that shit. I think the kids' history and background as retold to us by them is extremely suspect and I think it may slowly be collapsing in on itself - more and more housebound time, no sign of any family. They may have been conditioned not to notice their general lack of parental support or supervision. I think there are any number of mental and psychological blind spots for them and I think that also has contributed to at times their lack of direction in their investigation or at times apathy or indifference - playing games and sitting around in December, etc. Part of this is attributable to just college kids being college kids and dealing with everyday life, but IG it seems like a bit more to me at times.
