 FFSH - No clue inside

Just spoke to the director of the Otter Tail County Historical Society who directed me to the City of Fergus Falls building adminstrator/safety officer. He said there was NO CLUE INSIDE FFSH. The place is closed for the winter. The historical society director said he thought the roads weren't even plowed there.

Figured I better make a new topic - hoping anyone who was considering going sees this.

Maybe the circled numbers have some meaning that will lead us to something else involving FFSH - but it doesn't seem like a good idea to make a trip there at this time.

I think its prudent to remember that we are seeing maps and clues from 30 years ago from Mysterioso and whatever might have happened there 30 years ago (like Josh's dad being kept there for whatever reasons yet to be determined) probably dont play into things that would be happening today.
These are most likely clues from info stored concerning this case on the pdp-11 back in the day and are now being uncovered as we start at the top of the timeline and move forward. In other words, I believe we are simply getting the backstory in order to find Josh's dad in todays time.

The staircase probably wasn't the location of a clue, but rather a visual confirmation of what FFSH stood for. I feel like we should be trying to find records from FFSH or something. Something involving A. Minker in the 70s?

Sad to hear so.
On the other hand I always read those numbers as 11.89 / 12.68.
Like, something was hidden under the third step (envelope-duct-taped-kind-of-thing) from dec. 1968 through nov. 89.
Tried loads of googeling for any of those dates concerning Fergus Falls, couldn't come up with anything useful, so I just shut my mouth...
Hmmm, stil sad, another dead end?

Edfit: sweetrythm, there is something like a historical society that gives info about former patients of FFSH. Pretty sure most of you already stumbled upon it while googling. Question is, should we take that step? Pretending to be a family member of a person we don't even for sure "know to be in those papers" ?

NO! No! Not nice and DEFINITELY illegal. What's already online is Ok, but don't misrepresent anything.

Well, kind of, booba. If there is a Minker in their books and someone from our "company" pretends to be a family member of him and that Minker is/was a real person, then the person asking questions about him is on absolutely illegal grounds. No question about that. On the other hand, how grand is that possibility?

But, don't get me wrong. I do not think that there will be any info on our topic in any "official record". So, I would not contact that society, nope Sir.

And in '69 they officially ceased farming operations at FFSH. Might also just be coincidence Wink.
Actually 68/69 seemed to have been a turning point in FFSH history as some Doctor who went with electro-shock-therapy kind of stuff went off-duty. But, like I said, there is too little info about FFSH during 68-70 for me to make any judgement.

Edit in above post about the doctor: had remembered it right the other way around. Corrected now.

Edit2 (in regards to your later post): No. Probably not. Like I said. I do not think we would find anything ARGish in one of the "official" records.

Not to sound like a jerk but what exactly did you tell them you wanted to go in for? Like did you say 'I'm following this movie called Super 8, you may have heard about it, and I was wondering if you happened to know any thing about the popsicle Rocket Poppteers?' I mean what did you ask?

you should probably read some of the other threads that Rocket has contributed to, he does his research pretty extensively so folks like you and me dont have to, lets just say he's no dummie and i'm sure he had all the right questions to ask...not to answer for him...but he sheds alot of light in this super 8 tunnel and deffo puts the work in for a game that moves at a snails pace, give the man some respect holms... Worshippy

Should we inform Josh that we believe his dad was held there or something along those lines? Or even just tell him what FFSH stands for?

You can try^, but he wont respond to anything concerning the ARG... only about fish and innocent stuff not related to the game.

It went something like this…
Me: Hello, this is Major Minor of the Rocket Poppeteers Sonic Strength Fleet. We're conducting a missing persons investigation and have evidence that the case may involve Fergus Falls State Hospital.
Him: The Rocky what? Who is this?
Me: Listen fella – we think you may be harboring a trogl in a tunnel there – don't play stupid with me.
Him: A frog in a tunnel? What…hey am I being punked? Did Marvin put you up to this?
Me: Marvin huh? Does this Marvin have a PDP-11 simulator?
Him: What the hell is a pidipiyaleven simulator?
Me: OK, fess up buster – are you one of them kladrogs? What have you done with the biospeleologist?
Him: bzz…bzz…bzz…bzz

Actually…
When I talked to the historical society director I said I was involved in an ARG for the Super 8 movie and had to briefly explain what an ARG is. Then I told him this ARG recently included a map of Minnesota that had the initials FFSH, an X marking its location and a drawing of the spiral staircase leaving us to believe there might be a clue left nearby. He asked if it was like geocaching. I said maybe a little. He said that he was not informed of any type of clue being placed at FFSH and that he didn't think the roads there had been plowed, so he thought it would be unlikely. He said when the historical society does tours at FFSH they have to contact the Fergus Falls city building administrator and this would be the person I should talk to. So he gave me his name and number and I called him. I explained again to him. He said the place is closed for the winter and if anyone went inside and left a clue, they did so illegally. I told him that then I'm sure there must not be a clue there and thanks for the info. Then I posted it here.

(<2clix> - thanks for the nice words - although some people might say I tend to ramble on. I'm just having fun. BTW - I'm a she, not a he. Smile)
