I really should have posted this earlier since it happened a while ago. I talked to Jeff on Google Talk, as I did to HABIT. This was the result:

I don't know if this has been brought up already. Anyways, it's worth noting.

Also, don't mind my smartass replies or attempts to be witty.

Probably, yes, of course. But it's worth trying something else. What else are we going to do? When we hit on the wrinkle of our knowing what Jeff had said to Mrs. Corenthal even though he thought there was no footage of that, he was forced IG to admit the possibility of hidden videos. If we try enough angles - talking to Steph about Evan in the kitchen, for example - eventually we can box them in a bit too.

ETA: Thanks for that chat transcript. I think I need to figure out how to raise these guys on Google Talk...oh, this is awkward, having to invite contacts who I've never spoken to.

But what does that do for us? It doesn't advance the plot at all. Jeff admitted that hypothetically there might be hidden videos. Months later, he finally decides to try and watch them. Everyone gets bloody and says some weird shit. End of story. I mean, I wish it was more like the whole Ashen Waste chase. Whenever we suggested something, they'd do it. Now, it's like we have one right suggestion and a cluster of wrong suggestions that they'll disregard or become irritated with.

Personally, I think they're doing what's rational. They couldn't see them, so they thought we were dicking around. Now, we keep bringing it up and every attempt has failed. They just want us to stop trying. They've done all they could with the hidden videos that they will allow us to see for now. They're pretty much telling us to give that a rest, here's something else to discuss.

I'm not suggesting we again get them to watch the videos. It's impossible for them to watch the videos. I'm asking if there's another way to impart some of the information we have gleaned from that - namely, that something is wrong with Evan. However we do that, we should try and do something about that, I think, as well as giving them everything we have about the Corenthals and making sure to try and get them to look inward at their own lives.

Others have tried sending them transcripts of the videos: Jeff said that they only received blank emails.

Okay, so that's out. And I suppose we couldn't just say "EVAN HAS AN ALTERNATE PERSONALITY AND IS GOING MAD, PLZ ADVISE". Thanks.

I believe that sending them the videos isn't going to help. The HABIT thing seems to me as a way to divide the arg from the videos.
If you want arg you have the trials, if you want guys facing slenderman and dark secrets revealing you have the videos. Just my $0,02

And it does have more interaction than TT or MH, whether you can affect the story with questions or not.

No. The HABIT thing isn't an ARG, not by a longshot. It doesn't even have plot relevance anymore. It's just a nice little distraction for those who got in, and some amusement for the boys.

In my opinion, until the next geocache shows up, EMH is less of an ARG than it was before. It seems to switch between ARG and standard story pretty often.

I think it ultimately has relevance, but I do think it's also been a rocky road for them with these trials. Though honestly, the trials and the down time associated with them really don't bother me nearly as much as it does some. It was a neat side idea.

As for interactivity, I can't recall much in MH either but that was a spectacular story and remains so. I think there's a lot more potential for interaction here, of varying degrees, but the EMH crew, like MH, still have a larger story to tell regardless of our attempts to make an impact. The question remains how much of an impact we can make. I think there's some stuff we can do, whereas with MH I always feel as though I am a (terrified) bystander. That's not a complaint because I love MH, it's just a difference.

Anyway, topic, now what?

I doubt they'll do any new geocaches until the risk of them being buried in an unexpected foot of snow is gone.

Yeah, that's true. They're getting some pretty heavy snow. On his personal Tumblr he said the power may go out for six days, or more, so I guess that shoots down the possibility of a new video any time soon.

Correcting myself: I meant that the doing stuff could be left for the trials and the videos become more like... jus videos.

That. Just opinion. Nothing more.

Huh. That's... unsettling. Send that to CoA, might be worth putting up on the wiki. Jeff's hearing Slendersounds every night when he gets home? That is seriously bad.
