In any case, it seems we have the first piece of evidence we need. That's great. I'm sure there will be more. But we should start thinking about how we are going to confront Eric with this information. Or whether we should confront Marty - I'm sure you see what I'm getting at here.

Some other things: Ummm, is that a REAL REPORTER working for jevans in email18? Elizabeth Braun, anchor for 720 WGN, appears to really exist. Um, hi.

Not sure whether the jevans file really is that important. Imo its just the twitter login info for saver or something like that.. Much like the emails, just a distraction so far.

I think we should focus on cracking the encrypted notes from Brad to Nelson, maybe those will get us access to something new.
so far we have the messages and the key to decode them, whats missing is the cipher that was used. I initially thought of the nihilist cipher but with that key I'm not so sure anymore. I'm open for ideas on the cipher algorithm.

Concerning the key to the memos :

The key to the cipher being "tsr" and Brad Leard being a huge (obsessive?) D&D fan it might be possible that tsr is only a hint to the real key : "Tactical Studies Rules" which is the original company founded by Gary Gygax to publishl D&D materials


As to confront Marty or Eric, I think it would be wise to wait until we have gathered enough irrefutable data to prove Jared's innocence before telling them anything. If they knew we were digging for evidence they would most likely try to hinder us from accessing the terminal or something like that. Although I still think that all vital evidence should be forwarded to Jared or Steven (Jared's brother)

There are now folders called "grabdelayJAN30" in both Jared's and Marty's mail folders containing all of their emails.

I'm browsing them right now for information (specifically Marty's).
Havent checked if there are any other changes yet.

 		hehe well it's not strictly linux but i'd say its a nice opportunity if you want to try and learn how to navigate a system via shell.

Basically you only need to use the commands from help and try around a bit Smile
Here are some examples, if you want to try it out :
FILE and FOLDER are file or folder names you need to fill in, but inculde extensions like .txt for files!
PASS are passwords or keys. For this shell always type them in capslock-mode Wink
The spaces between commands and arguments (= filenames and passwords) are important
Code:
ls -> this will display a list of files and folders in the current directory

cd FOLDER -> will open the folder with the name you specified (if it exists) use ls afterwards to see the contents of the newly opened folder.

cat FILE -> if you wish to view the contents of a textfile use this. It will simply write out the contents of the file on the screen as if you had typed them

decrypt FILE PASS -> only use on files ending with .enc, fill in filename and password and it will show you the contents like "cat". It will do the same for .txt files if you dont specify a password as these are not encrypted.

clear -> cleans up the screen, use this if you have a lot of text in your console

help -> will display all available commands and the correct way and order of writing their arguments


Basically if you wanted to read victorias emails you would login and then type assuming you at least used upgradeaccesslevel BUBBLES to gain level 1 access (or a higher level) once before you would type :

Yup, there's a memo in eric's file section detailing some user name's who have attained his access level. There's another talking about the unfiction thread here and those posting in it.

Eric, CJ contacted me yesterday. We have agents working together with Jared in an attempt to get at information through some backdoor he set up before going to jail. He sent this list of names along of those participating in some community online who he can not match with our list of agents. We need to get someone on this right away...



Eric, we have a serious problem. I'm not sure I can shut this "terminal" down before Wednesday night. I was, however, able to obtain a list of user names who have been able to access my clearance level. You may need to get CJ on this asap to match up with current agents and their known locations.
