I may be in for this one. How long do the Yellow curtain campaigns tend to last and is prior knowledge required?

Thunderwolf, they usually last a few weeks (good fun). Some prior knowledge might come in handy.

Since it's usually my job to make the summaries I'll do so again... Wink

Especially since Uri and I got terribly confused when we tried to remember who was who in Ep. 4.

For those who aren't familiar with Behind The Yellow Curtain (or BTYC), here's a link to Part 2 and Part 3 and Part 4.

Quick summary part 2
A woman named Eleanora Plante asked for our help. Her professor Adam (and friend) had disappeared. Apparently he went out to find an artifact that (after some testing) came from a long, lost world (think Atlantis, think R'lyeh). However, the testing was fake and so Adam winded up a moron, but still gone from the face of the earth. Thus, E.P. chased him to the other side of the world (New Zeeland), found out the artifact might actually be real! And... Well, we got her killed by sending her into the ocean. And, one of our players was marked as 'the next target'. Well, not us; but the evil Barbizon Group led by Beatrix Gray. Meanwhile, a new guy came into the picture: Bobby Rondeau, and he was the key to part 3.

Quick summary part 3 B.R. sent out a message with a code. The code led to a website www.qadhos.com. Son of Qadhos were apparently the 'good' agents to protect against the 'evil' Barbizon Group. Personally, I didn't play this one, but it was also completed very quickly. Read this page (Tex' post halfway) and you'll know what was up.

Quick summary part 4
The fourth episode of BTYC starts with an e-mail from Bobby Rondeau that contains an e-mail to Eleanor Carter (main character ep 4.). This contains the first riddle and a link to qadhos.com. Upon cracking the first code we gained acces to the qadhos datastore (datastore.qadhos.com). All the seals (a.k.a.) riddles there led to letters from Beatrix Grey who had killed herself to gain acces to the Dreamlands (a dream world - Lovecraft mythos). B.R. tried to convince us that we needed to stop Beatrix (who's name was Eschantra in the Dreamlands) from digging deeper into the dreamlands. Reason for Eschantra to do so is because the Nightmare Realm is slowly spreading into the Dreamlands (the gates between the two are opening up and she wants to close them). In the meantime Eleanor, E.C. had received a book that explained how to travel to the Dreamlands. We were told to leave her alone, E.C. took some hardcore drugs and went out (hence we got the cheerleader killed once again!).

Things got kind of chaotic after this... We found out that B.R. was the one who had sent E.C. all the messages and no longer trusted him. Apparently B.R. had sent E.C. to the Dreamlands in order to find Eschantra and stop her. Apparently only Dreamwalkers can acces the Dreamlands and E.C. was one of them... Though, turns out B.R. was really a Dreamwalker too by the name of Lucian who had cast a spell on E.C.'s Dreamwalker ego (Devra) in order to contain her in a human body, erase her memory and stop her from protecting Eschantra. And it gets more confusing... B.R. really just tried to frame us by hacking into the qadhos server and making it seem as if Beatrix had signed the letters. Truth is: Beatrix was never part of episode four. The true author behind the letters was Solvej. Devra finds out about Lucian's evil scheme as she slowly regains her memory and swears to kill him.

The final clue leads to a letter from Eleanor a.k.a. Devra where she explains that Lucian made a bit of a mistake. Frankly he was the one to open the gates to the Nightmare Realm but instead of opening them to the Dreamlands they opened to earth and in the year 2127 Apocalypse kicks in. This very last letter is for someone in the year 2010-2011. A plead for help. And that 'someone' is us!

great job drejl,
as more i read, i remember how cheotic things went last year.

just another point from ep4, solvej is the queen or so of the dreamlands which is on the journy to close or disconnect nightmare realm from dreamland. lucian was her (evil) consultant or something, and derva was her (firstly suspissious) ascorter or protector.. some kind of sorcerer. correct me if im wrong

only question ive left with is who is entian..

btw, the hanrey solvej (signed beatrix) is writing to is BR?

Yep, Entian sent us that one note 'Read carefully the 8 letters from Solvej'. If I'm not mistaken he was also a consultant of Eschantra.

If I remember correctly, Solvej's letters were directed to Warren (her lover).

In the meantime, thinking out loud here.
So we're looking for an 'on' Qadhos. I'm still not sure if this is the Qadhos network a.k.a. datastore. Addition to this is that the datastore shows the image of a red bunny while the bunny for this ep seems to be blue...

We have the Grimorium, Arts and Crafts of Quebec, the Boston Art Club, G.F. Higgins, Lake Winnipesaukee, 1870, March 5th 2011, Pickman('s) Model, Solvej.

If we need to play this according to the ep. 4 instructions we should be able to solve this using only the yellowcurtain blog. That means: George F. Higgins, 1870, Lake Winnipesaukee, the newspaper article and the date from the morse code: 03-05-2011.

Lightbulb anyone?..

Just FYI, I'm in the process of updating the wiki to try and keep as much of the past there, if any want to add more detail to the characters then please do.

I've done templates for all of the major puzzles from the last episode, with a view to have at least all of the letters we received which will help with the back story...

I'll be sitting in channel #btyc on mibbit when I'm online http://www.mibbit.com/chat/#btyc (usually anytime from 15:00-00:00hrs GMT when I'm at home) if any want to pop in and have a chat about current stuff or what has gone before.

about the site, this EP so far seems like doyon mixes his own family into this and into qadhos, the twitter is sasha pickman doyon... i also thought the site is OG, but you cant know.. anyway there is nothing there right now so i signed up for the newsletter and all that stuff.

btw have anyone thoguht that @qadhos might be waiting for us to make any kind of contact? maybe we sould try and find communication root in toronto? or maybe just try to communicate via twitter, hed did answered drejl there..

and more speculative, maybe the "hunt" for layton stone begun? Rolling Eyes

So seems our Solvej is looking for other Qadhos agents... Weren't we considered Qadhos agents too in ep 4?...

Also, nice to see the ep.4 gang assemble again. Smile

Edit: as for the http://www.artsandcraftsquebec.com/ site, I don't think it's OOG. Mainly because it's linked to the twitter account.. It could, however be a bit of a red herring..
Edit2: Worked a bit on the wiki page as well... Wink

Edit3: Also, I noticed something peculiar... When you insert the '66211' file ID in the datastore (the one that leads to E.C.'s last letter) it leads to a broken link page 66212.php. Not sure if it's significant, but if you change the 2 to a 1 then you do get the last letter... Hmz
