I'm also waiting for a response from the test and though it's true there isn't much to do on the site there is still plenty to mull through. I've got the redacted files, death certificates and the other material but still having trouble getting the creased photograph from the package.

cleaned up the map a little...I'm guessing wind currents probably something to do with the "noxious gasses" or other environmental relevance to the Karl Justice explosions in 2003. hope this helps
Also, i would ring the number and just say i was looking for Loki, just in case it's a real number, but i live in the UK...

I would cast a vote this site is a setup. Someone should call the number!

If this was a legit site, why no email/contact form? Also why does he give a whole bio in About Jay but no price quotes or descriptions of jobs?

I dunno the site is so pretty, and well laid out, I think this "Jay" is a clue.

Wondering - Has anyone who has taken the test gotten an email yet?
Glad someone else thinks it's fishy and it's not be being silly.
You wouldn't normally give prices on a site like that to be fair, but still, the rest seems odd, there doesn't seem to be any clues in the source code, and unlike the other site the tags aren't to do with other ARGs.

There's a definite point where all the arrows group together, at the south end of the long island (i have no knowledge of New York).

So far, me and my team have deduced that the cipher is likely a columnar transposition cipher, probably double. It was used during WW2, which makes sense. But without the codewords, it's nigh impossible to crack.

We fiddled with the infantry photo a bit and we think the stamp says 'time sensitive material'. Probably just a red herring, but who knows?

odd-job definitely seems suspicious in my opinion, but there's nothing concrete. So far I haven't be able to convince any of my contacts in America to give the number a ring, but I have found a site that can dial American numbers anonymously and leave a text-to-voice message. I want to get my team's thoughts on the matter before I give it a shot, however.

I had someone take a look at that foreign ID and it's definitely Russian. The translation earlier in this thread collaborates what little they could discern from the image.

Also, I sent an email to Meg from odd-jobs mentioning Loki. Something may come of it.

Glad to see I'm not the only one not to have received a reply from OddJobs yet.

Interesting one this, shall have to endeavor to keep up!

I have also sent an e-mail to Meg, in it i asked when i might be getting the results from my test.

Odd-Job.biz could have been a good mistake to make then?
I think it's worth ringing, if it seems genuine then you can just say that you must have rang a wrong number, which happens all the time in real life.
If it's part of the trail it will likely be just an automated message wont it, so you should know straight away, if not then you could just ask for Loki.

I might even give it a try, but don't you need to know what state it's in to get the right first few digits?
I've never rang the US before.

I have no idea. Might need to check with an American.

I just noticed something.
Odd-jobs.biz and Big House Comics' site both have the same favicon (little picture to the left of the address bar), but odd-job.biz just has a blank one. Hardly compelling evidence either way i guess.

I don't think we will be able to find anything more until our tests and e-mails are replied to, hopefully that happens soon, i can't wait. Either that or something will happen on the 11th of March.

Btw - not sure if this little bit is an IG clue or just a typing error, but on the Old Soldiers page at the Big House Comics' site there are a number of typing discrepancies:

Quote:
The year is 2014. America's most notorious domestic terrorist, Karl Justice has been dead for over 10 years. Strangely, his name re-surfaces when an illicit exchange is boched. Who is using kArl Justice's Identity?

A story born in the last days of World War 2. Across the globe five men begin to feel the pull towards New York, Five Families. What is the mysterious connection that they have, why are they being called? The pieces in a game that has played out over generations are in place, ready for the end.

The end of the world?

Notice: Capitalisation of the A in kArl. Strange spelling of boched (I'd spell it Botched). The capitalisation of the I in Identity. extra space between "the mysterious" (which doesn't show up in my transcription, but look on the site). They are most likely just bad typing skills Very Happy but its worth noting just in case.

I live in the U.S. and all necessary digits are there for a national phone call, however that kind of business wouldn't list prices since it would all be "by estimate" day labor anyway. I'll give it a call anyway (couldn't hurt) and post on it when I log back on tonight.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/59087167@N03/5412941655/

also enhanced the stamp and the previous post is correct. "Time sensitive materials"

Also the location of the left crease might mean something. The character in the far left seems very out of place. Far more morose.

The site we are dealing with is Odd-Jobs.biz NOT Odd-Job.biz

Odd-Job.biz is as it appears, a man with some tools looking to do odd jobs. How could he possibly list the odd-jobs he could do? They wouldn't be so odd then! So to further say, his phone number is not in game either. Don't call it.

enhanced photo

operator0013, thanx for the enhanced photo. anyone want to start putting nationalities to the faces? the guy front row, 2nd from the left is in a USSR uniform (could be the same guy in the KGB ID card), and I believe the guy far right with the flame thrower is as well. Also the two guys in the back wearing overseas caps. My guess is the guy wearing the beret is English or Australian. I don't have the business card for odd-jobs.biz, what's the phone #?

might be nothing but.......

noticed when i looked at the map picture with the arrows on, that all of the arrows appear to be one type, apart from one of them.
its easier to spot in the cleaned up version, but if you look to the bottom left of the picture in the bit of water between the two islands, the arrow is deinfatley different, looks like a filled in triangle rather than a >.

Might be nothing, and not sure what it would mean, but seems a bit like X marks the spot?

*EDIT
Also, looking at the cipher, (being fairly new to cryptography in general) I don't think it could be a transposition cipher. I think it is more complex, as all letters are used, which would suggest that something other than changing the order of the letters by whatever means has been done. Also, applying frequency to it, reveals almost nothing.

Like I say, I am fairly new to cyptography so feel free to laugh/jeer/poke fun Razz if I am wrong but I go with the ENIGMA theory.
