Hate to bring up Danielewski again but this just hit me: his third work, The Fifty Year Sword. Has five orphans (again, three boys and two girls- our boys, Steph and Linnie) and a tall, lanky man with a terrible weapon.

Just thought that deserved a mention.

Well when you put it that way... maybe the Mining Town Four originally had a "hole" experience back in the disaster? Perhaps they got lost in the other realms for a while and met all sorts of wonderful new friends, like Slendy and Captain HABIT and the like?

...Yeah.

Maybe. I like that theory a lot, actually. And maybe their "friends" played with time and are still toying with bringing them back - either through new kids, or the same ones displaced in time.

Although honestly HABIT still seems to me like a hybrid himself - a merging of an alternate personality from Evan and something separate and viral that can affect many others. I keep coming back to the fact that Corenthal says the nickname originated with Fairmount Evan and his mother.

Volcanic, very nice catch. And obviously no coincidence. I myself have never read Danielewski though I've been meaning to read HOL.

It was Evan. Evan called Vince to have them come pick them up. Unless you're talking about something else...?

In "Alex" they first heard Vinnie's phone ringing, thus how they found it. What I'm saying is that if they wanted to mindfuck us, they should have had Evan call Vinnie's phone(being the phone call they heard in "Alex")

Or is this what actually happenend?

Let's say it was. You know, for shits and giggles.

In "Alex", they never answered that call. Since Vinnie had his phone and answered it in the new video, this would put "Alex" in a divergent timeline-- one where that call never got answered, they never got picked up, and they are still wandering that area. That's where the 'mystery footage' is coming from. This other timeline is inherently warped (they got to it through a hole that does not lead to the same place all the time, not to mention disappears later on), there is no way this is a normal place.

(It also brings up interesting parallels of Alice going down the rabbit hole. Are they going to be jarred back to reality when they awaken ("awaken")? Lord I hope not. Let's see how far this rabbit hole goes.)

Time does not work right in this dimension, and all their efforts to get back are hindered by the 'de-syncing' of the timelines. If they are uploading videos on the same channel, some wires are getting crossed when they do and their footage comes across in bits and pieces, starts and stops-- and from all different points in the timeline, since---

oh shit, i just blew my own mind.

Remember the picture posted here a while ago that showed how a piece of time could be "folded out" of the main timeline? How there is a loop in the string of time our boys occupy, and in this loop is where all the mystery footage occurs?

I think we just saw the divergence-- the piece of string where the loop starts.

In our timeline, they arrived back home safe and sound.
In the other, their journey has just begun.

As for how they got out of there to make the second part of this video, I don't know. You tell me, man.

I love EMH so much right now.... they are like a permanent Arbor Day for my epileptic forest.[/img]

I can't even deal with what you just wrote. No. I'm going back to creepy children. That's all my pea brain can handle right now.

Damn. Alright, what I'm about to type has all probably been talked about before, but for my own convenience, I'm going to repeat here in order:

A.) Going through the tunnel, they lose their items. This entire section reeks of House of Leaves; the lengthening of the crawlspace, the losing of their supplies and some headwear, and we know at one point something awful was growling down there.

B.) They end up in the basement of 78of76 and out into the field from 77of76. There is no doubt that this video IS of 77of76, which leads me to assume that the REAL 78of76 will occur later, probably when the weather is warm again. And, if I may speculate, 78of76 may be a sneak peek at the inevitable endgame.

C.) Vinnie. Now, questions arise as to why he was not there. I would ask where Steph was at the same time, assuming she was not with Vince. But as of now, I am not losing trust of Vince. There seems to be an evident reason why his personality is changing and he is being left out of things. Maybe he had other things going on. I don't know. I'm not going to start accusing him of anything at the moment, but the fact that his phone was initially found at the crawlspace and then he has to be called to pick them up during their adventure is very suspicious.

I really don't know what I'm trying to say with C, something along the lines of, yes, he's acting suspicious, but I'm not about to start treating him as though he were HABIT.

At any rate, terrific video, always nice to see a loose end tie up (this connecting with 77of76), and of course I look forward to more.

THOUGHTS:

- Jeff called Vinnie's phone in the first Alex/Crawlspace vid. I thought that was obvious?

- So they end up in the basement of the abandoned house, right?? But wasn't that house somewhere in the woods, all by itself?

- WHERE EXACTLY WAS THE CRAWLSPACE?? I mean... wasn't it to the right?

I still stand by the theory that Rake snatched Vinnie's phone and used it to do... tweets? Confused I dunno... The tweets certainly seemed to imply that somebody who had access to the twitter used the phone, and since Vinnie's was gone...

Why did Evan get his knife back but Jeff didn't get his bat?

I would have assumed that the knife reappeared when the crawlspace disappeared, but the fact the bat was gone shoots that theory down.

The house clearly wasn't 'somewhere in the woods'; you can see two other houses and a road right there.

Because the bat serves no purpose to the story. The knife, in some way, does.

Yeah, IN THIS VIDEO, but what about the video where it first appeared?? A Day in the Life??

To get pop-Freudian, this is telling us that Jeff has been symbolically castrated by their "The HABIT, the Rake, and the Wardrobe" experience. Whatever efficacy he'd built up since leaving his Sad Panda bed is now threatened. His confidence is battered, his ability to work against the forces of evil is lessened, and so on.

To put it in more properly EMH terms, but sticking to the same theme, they're telling us that after going through the craw space, Jeff is no longer Batman.

(The above is, of course, pure speculation; it remains to be seen whether Jeff will actually slide back toward Pandahood. Still, the fact that "Batman" lost his bat is just a bit too on-the-nose not to have some significance.)

I'm not sure what the debate is here. They were transported to Baldpate Mountain where ADITL was filmed. There is a handful of houses/buildings in the vicinity of the house they came out of.

I figured that it was because the Rake works for HABIT, HABIT = Evan, the Rake brought his master's toy back home. The Rake's not gone, it's just not living in Alex's closet anymore. It'll be back.

Well, after this video, I'm ready to ditch my alternate universes theory. And the Vinnie will die next theory too. I should have learned my lesson by now that coming up with theories is futile.
I wouldn't use the snow or lack of snow as evidence for when things took place. They can't control the weather, unlike Hollywood.
I thought it was interesting how at the end of this video, Alex's room was all blue. In the past it's always been more orange. I know the reason for it is that this was during the day with the sunlight coming in, but it's just an interesting effect. The craw space is gone and the lighting is changed too. I don't think the room is dangerous anymore.

I think a good question is why was the Rake in Alex's room to begin with?
