Jersey's been under a foot and a half of snow since late December, I can vouch for that. Whenever they shot that, it was definitely before all the snow came in. I'd say either sometime November or early-to-mid December.

When they shot it, sure, but I'm just saying that we can't assume that when they shot it is intended to be when it actually took place.

I think a good question is why was the Rake in Alex's room to begin with?
My guess, based on the latest video, is that it found the hole in the park and decided to investigate (or it slipped from whatever hill-dimension it comes from into the crawlspace and decided that Alex's room was more interesting than the park).

When Alex was no longer available for cuddles, the Rake got bored and left. Then the boys shows up to investigate the crawlspace and whatever it is that makes the holes noticed and decided to seal that shit up.

Let me start off with correcting a few of you:
What the growl was theorized to be, in HoL, was the architecture shifting. What it was, probably, was a sound created by the apprehensions of the House's explorers, brought into some sort of existence. There was no monster, and there was, in the same way Johnny may or may not have been tailed by some proverbial space-panther.

Not that this has much bearing towards EMH. The Rake is, I think, just the Rake.

Before this new video I was a pretty huge advocate of the "alternate realities" theory -- I was even the one who made the graph explaining the idea of "time compaction" a while back. But now I think it might only be some form of time travel. More specifically, someone appears to be sending the boys footage of what will, eventually, happen. If this rings true for 78of76.avi as well, then we may just be starting on our endgame, and all at once my theory of said video occurring during A Day in the Life becomes irrelevant.

Unless, of course, we learn that something odd happened with that call to Vince. The first time we hear his phone ring in Alex, the boys don't answer, but it's obvious in taking it back that Vince answered Evan's call. Maybe it's irrelevant, but it will be interesting to hear Vince's comments.

Another theory of mine, though, has been strengthened heavily by this new video -- that the House is central to the story being told.

Yeah. I think that's just what they did when they "succumbed." In 1981. Ten years after Corenthal met them at age...five? six? at the earliest. Just saying.

They also seemed to not get the big deal in Hidden Videos. "We were just playing a game! He got us there in an instant!" To them it was all just good fun.

qaqa made this point on page 83, and (first time theorizing on the board, so humor me) I think the ages of the kids/10 year difference really speaks to the possibility of direct time travel. I just think it's too convenient that 4 kids with the exact same names ended up mysteriously incapacitated around the same time they would be the same age as the current 2011 Hybrids. Could their 'succumbing' mean they traveled forward in time to present day? That would explain Jeff & Steph's lack of parents (do we know the parental status of Evan and Vince?). That would also explain the reason the EMH crew decided to throw in the strange, childlike reversion in the Hidden Video experiment. This weird event must have significance, because as we know, there are plenty of subjects (slendy, the rake, etc) that they could have made a video about...I'm thinking there's direct connection between the kids and the present day Hybrids and that it's going to become more important than ever in the coming vids.

That does leave the question of Alex's role more up for debate, however; maybe that explains why the Rake was in his room? He's not mentioned in the letters (to my memory...and no mention of it on his wiki page) so maybe the paranormal antagonists are trying to get rid of him because he doesn't fit into the timeline/narrative of Corenthal's 4 kids. That could provide a reason why Alex is being specifically targeted/his room is the hub of so much weirdness.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents. First EMH post on the boards, though I've been lurking pre-trials. . .sorry if this has been discussed already!

Maybe it's the opposite. Maybe for the fact that Alex wasn't one of the MTC, the Rake is allowed to try and have his way with him.

I dunno.

I would have assumed that the knife reappeared when the crawlspace disappeared, but the fact the bat was gone shoots that theory down.

The house clearly wasn't 'somewhere in the woods'; you can see two other houses and a road right there.

Yeah, IN THIS VIDEO, but what about the video where it first appeared?? A Day in the Life??

I'm not sure what the debate is here. They were transported to Baldpate Mountain where ADITL was filmed. There is a handful of houses/buildings in the vicinity of the house they came out of.

The discussion is this:

In ADITL, the house stood alone, somewhere in the woods.

In THIS video, it stands by some other houses.

See the above post with architecture shifting. It seemed to me the house in ADITL is the same house as here, but in this video it has gone somewhere else.

Except that in ADitL, there is no shot of the house that shows any of its surroundings. You say it is by itself, only because the shot they have of it is framed so that you can't see anything else.

There are, though, a few lines in ADitL, when they're rolling down the hill and hanging out, that imply the houses seen there are near the house they filmed, and the house we see in these strangely numbered videos.

There's another thing concerning that: how, OOG, do the boys move the same house to another location?

It's just a case of not having seen the surroundings before and thinking, "that looks new, so this place must be new". Same deal with the house hidden behind the grass in 77of76.avi -- just because we didn't see it before doesn't mean it was never there.

I think I can see where they are in this video in relation to ADitL. Check out around 4:55 in this video and around... 4:55 in ADitL (odd). That white building looks the same. I think that's the same road.

8:35 has a small distortion, then Evan is beginning to act differently. At 8:47, you can see the knife for a second and it's bloody.

It wasn't bloody before he entered the room. I think Evan is scratching himself with the knife after 8:35, maybe he cut himself? O.o

Thanks for clarifying the house bit. Smile

Thought the glitch was obvious, checking out the blood.

UPDATE: nah, no blood. There is a bit where jeff holds his box cutter into the cam... it's red... maybe it was that.

Oh, and what about the password-paper-sheet??

It's kinda hard to screengrab since it happens fast, but you can see it on the left.
