Well, on repeat analysis I definitely hear what Kor hears in the GF video - Evan talking about "somebody breaks into your house and comes and kills you," so that on top of "ashes to ashes, dust to dust" isn't exactly indicating friendly intent for the gang or us - since he posted it here. Or maybe his post here was meant to indicate the person he was is dead, and has become something else/crazy.

I've listened to it several times. I can sort of hear the "kill you" thing, but it takes effort. To me the clincher is in the very last part where the voice, to me, says "tangent". That's an odd word with a distinctive sound. I could be wrong, though. Probably am.

Now, I can't clean it up any better. Best I can figure out from looking at the volume/frequency plot is that the noise overlayed on the words is pure white noise. Don't know how to fix that. Not sure you can, past a point. I am eager to be proven spectacularly wrong by someone who's a better sound engineer, or rather is a sound engineer, and not a humble CS guy.

As for it being Evan, I can't say either way. My hearing isn't really that good, in the first place.

So... I've been reviewing Alex's videos, transcribing them for the wiki.. and I noticed something. In "Does anyone else's dog do this?" Sparky is scratching at the back wall of the closet... exactly where Evan looks for the entrance to the crawlspace in the most recent video. There's nothing there but wall.

So... not only is this a case of the crawlspace disappearing... but actually a case of it APPEARING. Where did Alex first mention the "crawspace?"

It looks to me like in "Does Everybody's Dog" only the closet's right door is open, showing only the cabinet thingy. In "Taking it back", we don't see a clear shot of anybody entering the craw space, but it looks like Evan is hunched down and crawling next to the cabinet thing--in the area that would have been obscured by the closet's left door in "Everybody's Dog". At the end of "Taking it back", Evan is looking to the left of the cabinet thingy and finding a small closet organizer thingy, which has presumably taken the place of the craw space.

I have no problem with the theory that first the craw space wasn't and always hadn't been, and then it was and always had been, and then it wasn't but earlier had been, but I'm not sure it's necessary. Screencaps or times would be much appreciated.

It's the cabinet in the dog video. You can see the line/crack that is the cabinet doors.
I assumed that they never showed the crawlspace because OOG, I mean real life, they can't make it disappear.
