Ok, had to comment on the whole "The Tall Man" thing.

If this IS a Slenderfilm...it's going to have to be pretty amazing to appease me.

Because I prefer the idea that Slendy remain a more...fan-created thing.

Also, I don't want to have to walk into Hot Topic and see Slenderman stuff everywhere.

Of course, I'd still buy some Slendymerch, but I'd be mad about it. Razz

Edit: I just looked at the FAQ of the film, and according to it it is Slender-based.

But someone in the little forum says that The Tall Man was originally conceived before Slendy. So...we'll have to wait and see. (and if it is Slendy-based, Victor needs to get credit)
Link to the FAQ, plox?

But if and when (Because it's going to happen eventually) Hollywood decides to get their grubby hands on Slendy, I'm going to have mixed feelings about it, no matter what. I mean, if they do it really well then I'll most likely love it, but I'll still be aggravated by all the scene kids going bananas over him. Call me an elitist, but meh, I don't want to share Slendy with fools who are just in it for the latest fad.

Heard about this a while ago, surprised no one mentioned it yet. I really, really, really hope they give it a nice, suspenseful feel. If itīs a simple B-slasher film, I will rip out the directorīs entrails and put them in a bag.
But yeah, letīs hope itīs decent.

Now, for something different: My room is in some sort of basement, which has one of those "foggy" windows, so you can only see the silhouettes of whatever is behind it. So, I was just waking up in the morning, with very few light. When I looked at my window, something at least 2 metres up hit the window and remained there. From my point of view, it looked like our thinner than me friend. It scared the crap out of me, especially since I stayed up in the night rewatching MH.
Later I found out the long silhouette was a piece of clothing, and the thing hitting the window (what looked like a head) was a small shirt that the wind moved a bit. Rolling Eyes

Every winter in my area, there is a ton of fog. Sometimes the fog lasts all day. It's hard to even see to drive sometimes.

Behind my house, there is a park - and from my second story window, I have a nice vantage point to look over the park. There are a lot of trees out there.

I try not to spend a lot of time waiting for the misty outline of one of those trees to start moving. If I am outside in that fog, it is definitely something that gives me the creeps. I was never afraid of the fog before! All the fog reminds me of the photographs of the Operator - and he always seems to hide in fog.

The Tall Man is not based on SM to the best of my knowledge. I seem to recall seeing or hearing the name before reading about this movie, but can't place where exactly. I think it was an actual arg or something but that's going back a while, long before SM was in existence.

Link to the FAQ: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1658837/faq#.2.1.2

It also seems to be a "non-US production", according to Wikipedia (not the best source of info, I know) (link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tall_Man_%28film%29 )

More properly on-topic: since I've moved to this University, I keep hearing weird sounds outside my window. My 4th floor window. Most I can brush off as being wind, but others have left me pretty confused as to what could be making the noise. (but I don't wanna check, either. XP )

Aw man... this is not Marble Hornets related, but you made me remember something from when I was living in dorms.

One night, outside my window, came a very long, loud, scraping noise of what sounded like metal on concrete. Pause for several seconds, it happened again. And again. Moving slowly along what sounded from inside like the sidewalk behind the building.

I couldn't look outside. I was convinced I'd see Pyramid Head. The sound was EXACTLY that.

Slender... Movie?

While I'm definitely going to see that, there's one thing that I dislike about stuff like that,

Now, I can see why they might want to make a movie of this. Slenderman has caught on quite recently in pop culture, especially with series like TribeTwelve and Marblehornets creating a buzz. It's only natural that Hollywood would want to latch on to that hype and try to make a quick buck.

But here's the catch,

Slenderman is scary for one reason: He's a collection of basically everything we *don't* know. We don't know who he is, what he wants, or where he comes from. We see a tall, faceless man, and that's it, that is the extent of our knowledge.
In recent years, there have been *maybe* one or two good horror movies. The rest sucked because they consistently relied on jump scares, which are nice for a while, but become WAY too predictable after about 5 minutes.
The good thing about these small-budget films is, they don't have the technology to rely on scares like that, they're forced to create fear using other, subtler methods.
So, yes, I'm going to see that movie, but I'm keeping my expectations low for the moment.

[/soapbox.]

... That felt good.

So I've been following MH for about 2 months now, and only started EMH because MH is lagging about Sad but in those 2 months I've become a bit more frightened of shadows and very antsy when I have to pass my cellar door (you never know when I'll suddenly see a hand reach around it) but so far my life had been able to pass without any real scares.

Until last night.

I had to work as a traffic controller at a big hardstyle event (Vendetta in Fijnaart, the Netherlands). It was just me and 3 others who had to keep 2.5k visitors' cars in the right zones etc. Because of the huge distance between the two spots where we had to be, we got walkies. This was awesome, since I've never had a chance to get one, especially one with an earplug Very Happy

What I hadn't expected was that I'd be standing alone for several hours, on a dark road, with nothing but cars, trees, and a heavy beat somewhere in the distance. This was still ok, I usually entertain myself by going over study-related assignments etc. This all changed when the distortion on the walkies began to kick in. Around 1 am, whenever someone was talking, I'd hear distortion coming and going. Suddenly all the trees were perfecty Slendy-spots and the cars with the headlights created shadows everywhere. In the end I just grabbed my maglite really tight and waited until my shift ended. But I was constantly checking around me where the hell the tentacles would come from :S

There's a snowman outside my dorm that people made, about a week ago, using oranges for eyes and a banana for a mouth. I walked by said snowman on Friday, on my way back from classes, and noticed that, the oranges and bananas were missing(they had fallen off into the snow), leaving a faceless snowman with a scarf. My mind immediately went from faceless = Slenderman = "Oh shi..." moment. And that is my story of the Slender(snow)man.

OHCRAP, I'd forgotten about this until just now. About...maybe a month or two ago, I re-watched Entry #26 to scare myself. When I got to the end, this happened. (You gotta click on the picture to see it.)

Let's just say, the scaring myself thing? Totally worked.

yesterday , right after i woke up i went to open the windows to see how the weather was( as i usually do).

It was foggy , and there was this figure in the distance standing perfectly still. I stayed there paralyzed for some ten seconds until i noticed it was just an old man waiting for his dog to pee.

Purplesharpie, the same thing happened to me yesterday. It was the first time I'd ever experienced it... and it was on a Tribe Twelve video.

Do you think Slendy is hacking into YouTube? Razz

i was having the creepiest slender man dreams last night where i was a guy with a camera and totheark was underneath my house in the crawlspace and i went to go chase him down, but when i went in my crawlspace was a massive maze that i got lost in for 3 hours completely afraid that he will come attack me.

later in the dream, after i escaped, i looked out my bedroom window and saw the operator standing next to my backyard fence, and he was twice as tall as it. when i woke up i swear i saw slendy popping his head in my door to check on me. happens every time i have a slender dream.

You lucky bastard, I wish I could have a slender dream every once in a while... The closest I ever got was this one where I was in a locker room and said "WHERE DID ENTRY 33 GO" and then it was over... I suck
