Yes, since Super8 is a hommage to Spielberg, I suppose many his works will be mirrored in the movie. I think, we should keep in mind many Spielbergs productions.

Im now also wondering if their could be a possible link between Dakota and Elle fanning for the movie...

Perhaps Elle Fanning plays Ally Keyes (Dakota Fannings character from Taken) only an older version of the girl. Elle would be the perftect actress to portray a grown up Ally Keyes. Guess we wont know untill names of the characters are released for Super 8.

yes elle did play 3 year old allie keyes, however dakota fanning did play the majority of allie keyes role in taken.
