Also got the email. So, what sort of jobs do you think we'll be assigned? Something tells me something about taking care of retired veterans. Is that odd enough?

I'm debating whether I will give this one the same treatment I gave SaverCo... It's like *every* company wants me to be a mercenary! Wink

They go out in batches, not really after a specified time..
That's why a bunch of us got the email at the same time.
But I think I only waited a day.

Re: processing time?

Hello! I'm sorta new to ARGs (I read up on the Haunted Majora's Mask Game after it had ended) and was glad when I found out about this.

I filled my test out this morning and got the reply a few hours ago. I cracked the cipher and sent the reply back. The main thing that I want to figure out is the ciphered army letter. I've got a friend working with me that's trying to find something to decode it. I'll let you guys know if we ever find anything... or not, if you guys figure it out, first.

Let's figure this thing out! ^^

Also received the email. Glad to see there's a place where I can figure things out about this ARG. This is my first ARG, and I will try to contribute any info I find worth sharing.

I have to say I don't think we'll be assigned "jobs" like bee keeper etc. The test was just to "sign you up", to the game imo.

EDIT

I assume some of you guys just received the following email, but posted here for reference if not:

Quote:

Subject: "This is not Meg"

Call me Loki.

I've jacked this account, and I monitor it for people that I think I can trust. More specifically, people I think have the skills to help me. I've removed you from the job placement algorithm. After analyzing your answers to the job personality test, I chose you.

Call me Loki.

Call me that because I have to, for the time being, remain anonymous. Through my work, I stumbled upon an archive and being curious, I opened it. And what I found inside filled me with grave concern. I have sent out packages to several media outlets in the hope that someone would release these files, find out WHAT they mean. Unfortunately, most of my packages ended up in the crank files of many a newsroom.

However...A few made it out.

I can't put the pieces of the puzzle together. I've tried, that's where YOU come in. I know I am asking a lot and by my contacting you, I may have already put you in danger. For that I am sorry, but SOMEONE has to do something, SOMEONE has to find the answers, to what is happening. With your help, I know we can stop what I fear is a disaster of unimaginable magnitude.

I have more files, and I will send them to you. Only I fear sending too many of them over email. Emails can be intercepted. Phone calls can be tapped, computers can be hacked. I can only hope we stay one step ahead of them.

Thank you for finding me. The game is afoot.

Attached was a picture of the Ouroboros -the snake consuming itself (or, rather, Jörmungandr - the serpent child of Loki from Norse mythology).

I just received that too. I guess now we need to wait until we receive the other files.

Under the picture of the Ouroboros in the email, there's some text that has been whited out.

Ouroboros is a commonly used symbol for re-occurrence, here's a quote from the almighty Wikipedia:

Wikipedia article wrote:
The Ouroboros often represents self-reflexivity or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return, and other things perceived as cycles that begin anew as soon as they end (compare with phoenix). It can also represent the idea of primordial unity related to something existing in or persisting before any beginning with such force or qualities it cannot be extinguished. The ouroboros has been important in religious and mythological symbolism, but has also been frequently used in alchemical illustrations, where it symbolizes the circular nature of the alchemist's opus. It is also often associated with Gnosticism, and Hermeticism.

IF wikibruce was sent something, it may take a little longer being Canadian. Confused *crosses fingers*

No other places than ARGN have reported the package yet?

Not as far as we are aware.

I reckon the rest of the files (ie, the ones not sent to ARGNet) might just be sent out to a number of different people by email. Loki said they didn't want to send the files all out through email, but they didn't say they don't want to send any.

Do you think they will send the majority out by post?

Pretty big package that they received, no? I imagine not everyone will be receiving something like that, but I'm surprised some of the larger online comic venues haven't gotten anything yet. I would have expected a place like Comics Alliance to get a trailhead before ARGN.

Then again, this screams of past ARGs... Have we figured out what the "elephant dentist" references?
