I'm trying to tie in the egg with the film noir story. One possibility is that we associate a method of cooking an egg with each replaced word.

For example:

stiff --> Hard-boiled
flipper --> Over easy
scram --> Scrambled
...

This has potential but I don't know all the ways to cook an egg and if this continues to work. Anyone want to try some more?

Detectives in film noir are often decribed as "hard-boiled", but I don't know how that hels solve the puzzle, or what a triangle of silverware has to do with it.

Thanks to strifey and framed, we have:

http://www.ilovebees.com/outbound/space_elevators.wav

this was taken from chloe.jpg, dana.jpg(?) and margaret.jpg

They used http://www.miskatonic.org/slang.html to translate the words in chloe.jpg, and strifey came up with ?????_elevator... framed filled in "space".

Right... that's why everyone syspects the egg picture goes with the Noir text...

Here's a pretty good list of noir slang, if we still think the "fill in the madlibs/make SP's story better" idea will get us somewhere:

Has anyone bothered to try hard_boiled as an answer? The puzzle .wavs are always blocked by my work firewall so I can't try it.

i think we might be looking into it too much
"sometimes i like my stories like this"
"hard boiled"

the silverware is just a clue to show how the egg was prepared

again, how that ties into the "hard boiled" detective story, no idea at the moment

Is it possible that silverware egg picture is a representation of another more recognizable symbol?

P.S. Is it my imagination or is the egg floating? I see a shadow, I think.

It looks as if we were on the right track -- it is the first letter of the noir terms, divided at the paragraph break:

Stiff
Paw
Adios
Croaker
Egg

Elbows checked
Large
E? (liquor)
V? (down-and-out)
A? (phone)
Ticket
O? (private detective)
Ringers
Snatch

To be completed...
