Is it Mysterio who is behind the trailer clues?
Directed to Josh?

First trailer--way back when--led us to STIES.

Consensus was/is that Mysterio is behind the PDP, initialing teasing Josh, but finally coming through with the badges, map, etc.

So, is Mysterio behind the clues on the hind-end of the daily trailers?

Are these directed to Josh, and if so, where are they coming from, that is, we were pretty certain that "SCARIEST THING I EVER SAW" was from the leader of the Super 8 film, so where are these images originating from? Different sections of the same film (the kids were shooting)? If so, just what did Josh have (if this isn't it) on his film other than what we've seen from the first STIES photo that included the pill-box hat, etc.

If Mysterio is flooding Josh's mind with these clues, is it to prompt a memory, something Josh had overlooked?

I think maybe it was Euchre (somewhere) that had theorized that possibly the suitcase-looking item seemed familiar to the one in the craigslist photos.

Have anyone noticed anyone in the trailer wearing the green dress, or anyone carrying the sled during the evac?

Seems that there must be a connection to Josh (other than the possible photo of the bearded man who might be A. Minker) that we're not making yet? Confused

If it is Myst, then he didn't come through today... so bummed.

I wasn't following this from the beginning, but I think the things put at the end of the trailers are put there by...Paramount?
The first message was to give us a window into the world, rather than one character using it to communicate with another. We just happen to be silently observing the interactions between them, which could have been going on before the site name was even teased.

I could be totally wrong here, that's just how I see it.

I don't know if it's mysterio, Paramount or an evil kladrog slipping them in there, but they have to be putting them there for us. No one else in the general public (in their right mind) would be picking the trailers apart by the microsecond to check for clues. It doesn't seem like all these pics are being placed and replaced for our viewing pleasure only.

EDIT: I guess someone could be using the trailer to upload info to someone else - and we're just bystanding observers. (Is this what you meant Slusho Addict?) But still - they must hold some kind of clue(s).

Dunno Xeno.. That would be mixing 1979 with todays ARG. I view these snippets from the trailers as a similar thing to the Cloverfield ARG where we had those pics on 1-18-08 that led us to other places. Remember, the first clue was the letters at the tag of trailer 1 .. STIES..
If Josh were watching the trailers for the film to get these tiles, he would know what all this was about now..
But we can see why they made a point of saying "dont speak of this.. if you do, they will find you"

This explains why the 'tale of Lillian and the Super 8 alien story' was not passed down to future generations..why Josh and everyone else dosent know anything about it..and why all the secrecy with Mysterioso worrying that 'they' are looking for Josh now that the PDP 11 has been reactivated. Its another Roswell in Lillian in 1979 and the story died there never to be told again.. till June 10th 2011..

Melodyman;

Thanks for your input--I wasn't here for the fun and frivolity that was Clover, and I follow you that probably most of the jigsaw pieces (with the exception of the black and white pics--they're very questionable and I feel may relate to A. Minker and Myst) are related to the 1979 "Lillian" incident (or should I say "non-incident?").

I guess that if this is an ARG, the PMs seem to have stepped outside of the ARG (by releasing the jigsaw pieces) through channels that they have in the past--STIES, HLM.

We all played along with the lettering from the first trailer. OK, so that led us to STIES. More trailer are released, and I guess there's a part of me that wants to believe that like the 1st trailer that led us to STIES and Myst, the snippets that are coming out now are what? Part of a continuation of the that, with Myst being the man behind the curtains, and if not, the PMs just dumping the clues "out of game?" I don't know if that's making any sense, talking is easier for me, but do you get where I'm coming from in this?

This is obviously "in-game" but it just doesn't seem to make any sense as an ARG to just flush clues out to us and not play by the rules (better yet, roles) that you've set up for your intended audience. I mean it's great that we're finally getting something to sink our teeth in, but surel not at the cost of continuity with the ARG they've started? Confused Confused Confused

It's late and my fibro and I are dueling. Evil or Very Mad
