Sorry if this has been brought up before, but did anyone else notice that the trees in the background while Jay was driving at the end were much greener than around the building? Wherever he is there, he's a ways away from that place.

This will seem ironic after my last post - but one flaw with the thinking behind Alex surprising Jay, as I see it:

As much as MH is obviously pretty out there and requires a fair bit of suspension of disbelief, the idea that the two of them would turn up in this shack at the same time without noticing each other AND that Tim would also be there is ridiculous. Bear in mind that they had to cross a lot of open space before the shack, and J was only in there for around 30 seconds before Alex turned up. J also makes a point of looking around before he goes in, as he does with all the locations he visits.

So, Alex had to know J was in there at the very least. It seems unlikely to me that he could have followed so close behind without being seen unless he'd hidden out near the shack in advance, which means he would have spent a fair amount of time in close proximity to Tim. I think they met up before and Alex proposed they check out the shack again (obviously he would want to know as much about who sent that tape as possible, considering its contents).

The real question, as I see it, is why Tim was there anyway. Theories?

Hey long time reader first time writer. I have a couple random points to make and apologies if they've been made already.

It doesn't surprise me too much that Jay is talking to himself through the latest entries. I think they're trying to show how he is getting increasingly frustrated with dead ends and bad leads when a friend's life might hang in the balance. From that perspective, it makes sense to me that he would be yelling to noone in particular at once again wasting his time going to this house.

Now as for why the three of them were there. I'll go under the more simplistic assumption that Tim/Masky was Totheark. We've talked here a lot that ARK could likely stand for the initials of Alex Kralie and that TTA has been searching for Alex this entire time. Now if it was actually Alex that sent the tape to Jay asking for help (big assumption) and used the return address as a place to meet that seemed remote and away from threats, Masky could have followed Jay there that first time and set up camp to catch Alex when they actually crossed paths. So when Alex shows up, probably before Jay the second time, but hidden, he may or may not have noticed Masky but most certainly heard him when he walked in.

Not really sure....the more I think about it, the more I keep wanting to revise what I'm thinking in my head...so I suppose we'll just have to keep speculating until we get a real definitive answer.
