Holy crap, Unfiction is full of idiots.
Micheal Moore is Masky. He's trying to prove how Alabamians are paranoid and insane.

Well, we don't really understand the mechanics behind Mask, but due to his resistance at having the mask removed, it's probably got nothing to do with memory loss and more to do with the fact that when Tim is in a Mask-like state (If he ever comes out of it), he just... wants it on.

I personally believe that since Tim seems kinda rational when being interviewed, having the mask on changes his personality. It's as if Tim knows what he's doing without the mask, but when he puts it on he becomes some kind of animal.

This also supports him being TTA.

But we have no grasp on how things were progressing before all this. Granted, he seemed normal before the interview, but what did we see of Mask before that? He showed up 3 entries later, in a house that Jay got an anonymous tip too. It seems unlikely that Tim would give him the tip, wait for his second visit to don the mask and attack him.

I would say the Mask, if Tim ever comes out of a Mask-state, is more akin to a Fight Club scenario- which is pretty much what you said, but it's not a conscious thing. Something happens, and he's already in the Mask-state, but he dons the Mask and does his thing. Which is why he refuses to take the mask off when he's in such a state.

I also disagree with the assessment that this supports him being TTA. I don't think TTA's videos are the works of a rational person. They're the work of a very intelligent person, or at least someone who knows far more than we do, but also someone who is broken. And Mask is... animalistic, like you said. He may have some cunning to him, since he's been able to get the drop on Jay quite a number of times, but that's all it is. His behavior struck me as a dog being backed into a corner more than anything.

EDIT: Whoa, missed a whole sentence. I meant to say that in this entry, his behavior struck me as a dog backed into a corner.

Wow. First two days and I've racked up around 70 posts, a solid theory that a lot of people agree with, and I've posted in that work of art Quote pyramid. I'd say I'm going to have a pretty bright future with unfiction.net. Smile

Tim's honestly probably the most visibly complex character (well, at least now that we KNOW 100% he's Masky... big ol' Rolling Eyes to all the naysayers). I have my own personal theories on his issues and his involvement with Slendy/TTA/Jay/Alex, but that said, what we've got here are his 'animalistic' or 'ferocious' tendencies to ponder over.

I'm kind of under the impression that Tim is just plain broken. I think he's functional to the degree that he can carry on a normal conversation with Jay during the interview, but he's already gone into madness at this point, and may very well already be Masky.

Assuming he's not TTA, I'd have to say whoever TTA is, they're allies. They both have issues with Alex for reasons unknown but oft-speculated over, and both seem to think Jay's tampering with the footage (both by watching it and allegedly 'cutting it up') is wrong. That said, if he is TTA (which I don't think is TOTALLY unlikely) this brokenness could just be manifested in two ways for Tim: as Masky, it's physical, brutal... as totheark, it's cunning, calculating, menacing. Either way, they're two halves of one whole, regardless if it's two people or one person.

I know this is more of an off-shoot than a direct commentary on your post, Kilo, so apologies if it seemed like I was debating at first. You could very well be right about this (there's obviously no HARD evidence) but this is more combatting the notion that TTA and Timmasky are separate entities and fighting for different 'sides'. I don't really see evidence pointing towards that other than general spec, but if somebody has a well-formed thesis on this and wants to post or PM some screen caps or reference some entries, I'd honestly love to see them because I'm just loving the theory for the sake of theory right now (like I said, I have my own thoughts, and I'm only not sharing them because I have little evidence to support them yet).

I don't quite think that Tim is as sane as he appears in the interview, though. As Masky he's animalistic, but without the mask he regains his higher functions and is clever enough (and insane enough) to make the videos and plan where he'll encounter J, hiding all this from J at the interview (but he did seem to hesitate a lot, thinking his next words carefully).

Maybe he prefers the mask because then his insanity can't cause him mental anguish? His mind goes out the window so he can't see and hear the madness (or the stuff he posts on youtube).

But if Tim becomes his regular self again without the mask, doesn't he get that this is all wrong? I don't think he donned the mask until he started becoming increasingly more insane. I mean, it's easy to see how calm the first few totheark vids are, and how -not-so-insane- Tim is in the interview. But as his vids got more crazy, so did his sanity. Tim is definitely the most interesting character yet.

Well. That was interesting. I was thinking the old wrestling chant BREAK HIS ANKLE clap clap clap.

I rewatched Entry #33 and yes Tim is seriously limping out the door. Clearly there is no answer to the question of why the recording stop but Alex does yell out "turn the camera off" so.

Alex reappearing clearly shows during the 7 months J found Alex, and clearly Alex is pissed with Masky. I think his rage demonstrates he has been harassed, attacked.stalked etc by Masky too.

Marble Hornets has done a nice job moving their story along here.

Like I said, I think he's insane but he can still function to a degree that allows him to fake sanity while all this messed up stuff is going on beneath the surface.

I also think that him not wanting to take the mask off shows that having the mask on and being more animalistic is somehow addictive. Like I said in my last post, a release from the mental problems on some level.

Hmm, I really like this theory. The bad part is I'm not sure we'll ever know find out for sure if it's true. It just doesn't seem like one of those things that they're going to go over.

Also, all this focus on Tim makes me think we're going to see a return of Brian sometime soon. I don't know why, but I can just feel it. Anyone else think the same?

I kinda think Seth or Sarah is going to be brought up soon. They've not been mentioned at all pretty much except for Seth filming Alex in the Entry where did his "Everyone's gone" speech.

Brian I feel is either going to have been killed by Tim or will appear at some point in the future, but I don't think soon.
