I'm commenting on Saranna's latest post saying that she is under no obligation to hand over the laptop, unless they get the police involved.

Additionally, I'm doing to let her know that we're making the life-death connection and arranging the letters into DIES. As I stated before, we aren't going to get it exactly right straight away, the only way to "test the water" is to keep Saranna updated every step of the way, and she'll stop us when we get to the right answer.

I suppose it could be 'ides', as in the ides of March, middle of March is coming up and has to do with the full moon, which was one of the cards mentioned earlier. I like Core's ideas better though.

I emailed Saranna encouraging her not to give James W Kilner the laptop.
Since my free-reading question was 'when will i die?', I made sure to sneak in a few 'DIES'. Smile

The info I find on James W Kilner is a census from England which mentions him in Yorkshire 1863...

The Lists
This is what I found on the two pieces of paper in David's apartment. I've reproduced them in here rather than scanning them in an attempt to protect David. His handwriting is very distinctive and he makes no attempt to disguise it on these lists.

List #1:
Darnassus
Exodar
Ironforge
Stormwind

List #2
Dark Light
Night Day
Heads Tails
Capulets Montegues
Republicans Democrats
Cats Dogs
Life

Going off the idea MensVenatus posted about "ides" as an anagram and the mention of "Capulets - Montegues" on the second list, I left a comment suggesting Julius Caesar as a possible direction.

I have to admit, I saw "IDES" as the anagram too. made me think that maybe the password was something along the lines of "Et tu, Brute?", but I guess it doesn't really tie in with anything else.

I thought I had responded previously, but I guess my answer got swallowed by the internet.

List #2 has pairings of opposites. The missing item on the list is the opposite of "Life", which should be "Death".

The first list has already been established as a list of capital cities on World of Warcraft. From looking at the wiki http://www.wowwiki.com/Alliance, the missing capitals are Gilneas and Gnomeregan. I am considering Gilneas to the be the most likely answer. I am going to e-mail Saranna and see if the username is "Gilneas" and the password is "Death".

Regarding Saranna's latest entry:

"mbdfesvou
mfoadfqyivs"

The first set of letters ROT-25s to "LACEDRUNT"
But the second section under ROT25 is "LENZCEPXHUR" which could almost be lens cipher (although, I've no idea what that is...) but I think thats unlikely.

Ultimately, I've no idea what "laced runt" is. So I guess thats probably not it.

I'm wondering if this connected to the username and password we are looking for being she put it on two separate lines.

Does tha above relate to the previous lists she gave us?!?

ETA: Okay this is a stretch LENZCEPXHUR could be: Lorenz Cipher

Ties up with the wireless telegraph maybe...

Every cipher that we've got from Saranna has been a vigenere cipher. I'm going to go with that for now.

OMG!BBQ! this is great.

ok, maybe as far as the WoW allies cities go. Gil and Gnomer are not capital cities though... just pretty extras. I think it really points to the word Alliance itself. (just read the DEIS comment)

Reading through, and maybe crazy, but we sometimes use wowspeak in RL...so a major ally charact who has died is whom? Arthas most recently...

Believe that alphabet grid may direct us that David's lettere (mb df es vo um fo ad fq yi vs) are a Four-square Cipher (LINK)....

Have done a couple by hand and at CipherClerk using Dark/Light and Big/Ben as the keys with no success. RL job awaits Geek

I tried the playfair on cypherclerk:

G W A I C U Y L R P I L E C A L T D X Q
----------------------------------------

Deciphered using 'Playfair cipher'.
Using the alphabetic key 'abcdef'.
The length of the plain tex is 20 letters.

Plain text alphabet is 25 Letters: A-Z, J --> I.

Character matrix:

A B C D E
F G H I K
L M N O P
Q R S T U
V W X Y Z
