Wild thought: does the Entry #29 audio match any of the lines from this? IIRC #29 had the Operator say "Jay" and "see".

So, Operator was near. Visual tearing uncharacteristic of Masky was present

Hurm. We're all so set on the visual tearing meaning the Operator is nearby, since that's how it always seemed to be before Masky showed up in the series, but recently we've seen a whole lot of visual tearing in conjunction with Masky's appearances. I'm thinking maybe Masky or both Masky and the Operator can cause it.

so, I don't think the operator causes audio distortion, i think that's just masky, the Operator may use mimickery (not sure who brought that up but I like the theory) this would explain why Alex tore the audio off.

On the other hand the audio on tapes may not work correctly when the operator is afoot, and it wiped the audio of the portion he was there, this si why we have audio on the hard drive from the chest cam but not from the tapes Alex made.

okay, so this is WAY out there, but my sister proposed an idea (maybe as a joke) that had some validity, but it quite insane.

so she's studying physics in college. i guess quantum physics right now. and apparently, a theoretical property of quantum particles is that they actually have no properties at all unless being observed.

if you don't see what i'm getting at, basically the tl;dr is slendy may be in control of quantum physics; that's how he moves. completely theoretical.

There's one thing that I want to point out that I don't like about the "Jay and Alex went there together" theory. Aren't these kids supposed to be film students? Anybody that knows anything about filming would film from a position where all the important details are on the screen. Obviously, if you're filming something, you point the camera at it.

If two guys are going into a building and one of them has a camera, the only thing that would make sense is for one to film the other walking in. Basically what I'm saying is, it seems totally illogical for Jay to be in front with the camera and Alex in the back.

The idea that I get from watching Alex's behavior is that he knew for a while that something alive and dangerous was through that doorway. Why would you purposely put the guy with both hands free and full maneuverability behind the cameraman when the danger is in front? In fact, the more I think about Jay actually advancing first even after Alex's warning, the more it breaks suspension of disbelief, as if the director simply wanted a close-up of the assailant emerging.

Also, back to details, isn't the fact that you're investigating with someone else instead of by yourself a fairly large detail to be left off-camera?

Jay's speaking. Admittedly, I talk to myself. Sometimes very loudly. From someone who has experience vocalizing his words without addressing another person present, I think it sounds like Jay is talking to himself. Subjective opinion, but I think it's accurate.

And to those who say Jay doesn't react to seeing/hearing Alex, there's no way to tell that for sure! Think of two different reactions being surprise and shock. Surprise results in jumping out of your skin. Shock results in deer-in-the-headlights. For instance, my reaction to this video: Did I scream and jump through the roof, or fall off my chair? No. What I did do was sit there, perfectly still, speechless, with my jaw on the floor. Much like Jay's reaction when he turns and sees Alex. I was a little surprised, yes, but mostly, just shocked. Shock and awe of this outstanding entry.
(You could use the word "startle" here, it might fit better than "surprise".)

Now we don't know for sure, but Jay could have been completely dead-pan, or his eyes could have bugged right out of his skull and his jaw fell all the way down to his belt buckle, and it would look exactly the same from the camera's perspective. The only thing we know is that he was still and speechless.

I say he was shocked. Totally wasn't expecting to find Alex.

I haven't seen this brought up yet, but I think Tim coughing has an easier explanation than the "slendersickness." If you notice when they have him on the ground, they have a chord wrapped around is neck. I think the coughing may be purely from the fact that he is being strangled at the moment.
