 		So...is this enough to suggest the next EMH roadtrip to go check out where Memorytown was?

I don't know if there is anything to say "HEY, GO THERE", but when we're given specific locations...makes me think it so.


Or is this a Hybrid assignment?

 		Sorry for asking here but I couldn't find it elsewhere. Who is baghead? I don't remember anyone wearing a bag over their head in any of the videos. Was it from somewhere else?

Yeah, I see the progression of thought there, but I'm pretty firmly not in the "Shade as a character" camp. We'll have to see the rest of the paper to start speculating things like that.

Shade isn't necessarily a person OR the password. It could be a place, possibly something akin to Shades (a version of the underworld, unless I'm mixing my mythology up). That way, Shade's password = password to Shade, rather than a password someone called Shade has.

Edit: Whoops, I was misremembering what the paper said. Nevermind, place doesn't make much sense with that particular sentence structure...

You were close.

A shade in Greek mythology is a ghost that resided in the underworld. Usually in a lot of older mythology, Shade was a word used often to refer to ghosts/spirits of the dead.

So the question is, are we looking for a password used by someone who is dead and left a record? Or is there another meaning here involving Shade?

Edit: Sorry, let me clear that up a bit. Shade was a word used often in older mythologies that are from or border the middle east regions, which ancient Greece showed influence from.

The underworld was... well the Underworld and simply called "Hades", after the God who ruled it*. It had quite a few areas inside of it, including a version of heaven and hell (Heaven "The Elysium Plains/Fields" and Hell "Tartarus").

*You want to have some fun, check out Greek mythology and the idea of Gods not only being Gods, but also conceptual places or things, and that the god who interacts with humanity is just a personification of the God to interact with man.
