Loki

Loki being a trickster god crossed my mind too but there was no real context until the odin clues started popping up. Maybe we are being tricked into helping the conspiracy unwittingly.

Well we now have a second recipient of the mailed rabbithole package:

Rob Donoghue, an analyst and possibly a friend/acquaintance of BHC.

Odin One-Eye would probably be most apt, as he was known as such to his peers. Lots of Old Norse imagery cropping up, but there's one thing that disturbs me. In the old sagas, Loki was the trickster god who worked to bring about the end of the world (Ragnarok) - the devil if you like - whereas Odin is the "good guy" of sorts, the All-Father.

also, to hwoami - the clue to the odd-jobs.biz/odin.html page was in the "Ace Hole Turn" email. The last line reads "Add the name of the all-father" - hence, add odin to the site address.

ETA - Didn't know if anyone had done this yet, but I mapped out all of the "hidden" pixels on the odin source code onto the image (see attached). I have it saved as a layered xcf if anyone wants the dots, lines and background separately. Nothing really jumps out at me from this though.

This might conceivably be a clue if we connect the dots based on the order that they are activated to reveal clues. Until then, unless someone wants to try all possible combinations of connections of dots, I doubt we'll find anything. It

New Email.
Seems very clue vacant at first glance, but who knows.

OK, its been crazy around here...

tuesday, I uploaded the last clue and all hell broke loose.

The website got locked out...Images were deleted, they are still trying to get the site up. They are going crazy, their job site has been down three days, and they are losing bucketfuls of money.

I still have my sniffers in the job personality test, but I think its only a matter of time before they track me down...

Its not safe for me to communicate with you through this website anymore...I will have to find another method...and fast..

The new main page says: "LOKI YOU'VE BEEN VERY NAUGHTY. WE'RE WATCHING YOU".

Also, in hidden text is.... a link to this forum thread.

Where is this? The main page looks as it did when it begun.

zoom out on the page, or scroll to the very center. And select-all will reveal the hidden text

I think from the website's main page his sniffers in the job personality page are no longer there.

If the hidden text reveals a link to this thread, can anybody tell me what other threads Loki has been trying to recruit from?

This latest... Update could mean one of two things.

1) Whoever is closing in on Loki is now aware of our investigations and is keeping an eye on us, thus compromising our findings here.

Or, far more likely...

2) Because Odd-jobs is now down IG, new players are locked out from using the Odd-jobs link to get involved. Thus, they are directed here so they can catch up on the game so far.

Neon - it doesn't compromise our findings here. Any PM should know that anything said on this forum is strictly out of game.

Its a big no-no to even acknowledge that unFiction exists.
Naught big-house, NAUGHTY!

So a few things.

The subject of the latest email is "Its hit the fan", and indeed it has. I think it's safe to assume this is another anagram. Now, my previous attempt at an anagram wasn't the best, and the only thing I could come up with is "A Hint Is Theft" which makes no sense at all. Anyone got a better phrase or know what this could mean?

I agree with operator, can we even trust Loki? He's got one hell of a pseudonym.

Also, if anyone has been redirected from the odd-jobs site recently and is new to the thread, feel free to try and crack the cipher or help us with the QR code predicament. Odd Jobs, I know. Go figure.

I know linking to the site or opening the curtain is normally a bad idea, but in ways it makes sense. The idea of an ARG is that it's meant to be real, and if this were happening in RL and odd-jobs knew about here, they wouldn't be best impressed. The main message was sort of creepy.

I also wonder weather Loki can be trusted, it certainly looks like he is the good guy right now, but i get the impression that could change. I think there's too much symbolism involved for him not to turn out to be evil.

For the people who it isn't working for, you're browser must be loading a cached image or something. Here is what it should look like:

alternatively - hints at thief

Might refer to the theft of Thor's Hammer
