I'm thinking not far at all.

Okay. Tree time.

I'm not going to get too hung up on the Memorytown stuff until we get Jeff's feedback on it. (I'm sure we will, via video or email or whatever).

But there are a few things in this last letter that interest me.

The biggest thing is the return of the "man" and the "treasure". We've been led to assume that the Man is Slendy. Ugh. I just deleted a wall of text.

I guess the identity of "the man" isn't as important as the notion that "the treasure" isn't just some made up thing to get the kids to play along...but an actual "thing" that "the man" needs these specific children to find.

Tangenting to present day, I think this being TNC's prize cements the fact that it is HABIT who is making the caches and sending us the Corenthal letters. So we're being led in a direction, probably intending for us to pull the Group along...to a goal, a "treasure".

So is Habit "the man"? And what could the treasure be?

No, I think Slendy is the man as per the kids' POV, period. HABIT is simply sending us caches in the here and now. He wants us to know. He wants to tell the story because he's feeling arrogant and he thinks nothing we do will matter, and it probably won't.

I had the same thought earlier that you did about the treasure. It may be a line SM feeds the children to get them to follow him, like the Pied Piper or a leprechaun's pot of gold. Or it could be something real. And maybe it's still there, in Pennsylvania, at one of the very specific locations mentioned.

If somebody hasn't sent all the Box 4 stuff to Jeff, they should just to be sure IG he sees it.

But then he might demand the hat back!

So was anyone else surprised that we didn't get a late-night tweet from HABIT?

So it Did say 'PASSWORD', not terribly surprising. Although I'm probably wrong, what's the bet the next word is 'ARK'?

Yeah, grieck, I was thinking that myself. It seems like the obvious one. Again, though, we could be off.

With the inclusion of the hat in the newest box, I'm starting to wonder what the significance of the box items from all the boxes (and the bag) are to the story.

The papers (be they Corenthal letters, HABIT quotes, or parts of clues) are obvious but others aren't as easy to determine. The orange hat for instance, the bracelet thing that was in Box 2 (I think), the Gatorade in the bag, the EMH cards and messed up photos. The latter ones I could see as just being atmosphere building ("I messed up your photo! That means I'll mess you up!") but I don't know. I think a closer look at the clues from the boxes wouldn't hurt.

Yeah. Tonight when I get off work it's time to scour the boxes we have so far. Only 7 hours to go! :3
I think this box suggests the current "order of endangerment", and that we should keep our eyes on Alex's safety for a bit.

If I remember correctly (which is not a guarantee, as this happened a while ago), the bracelet/necklace/whatever it was matched one that Steph had, so the 'taking things from protagonists' aspect isn't exactly new. However, when asked about it, she said hers wasn't missing. If Alex also still has his hat, it could support the whole multiple universes theory.

Alternatively, it could mean that such items are fairly easy to obtain and HABIT is just messing with us for shits and giggles.

Fake edit: This reminds me - didn't Steph's bracelet-jewelry-whatever-thing have HABIT written on the back? TNC, was there anything written on the hat you got?

Back to this "Shade's password to the..." message. Who do you think will get the next one, how many pieces do you think are left, and what does it all mean? Neutral

I'm going to assume there are four pieces, just by the way the paper is split up. As to the other two questions, I have no idea.
