The personality test is back as the main page. I wonder if the PM's changed their minds on the next part of the game. They must have finally read the terms of service here.

Ugh. This topic has been discussed to death in the past. Just trust us when we say, it's much more complicated than that =)

Just to be clear - the TOS is for activity on this forum (PMs posting in their thread, etc)... while it may be bad form (according to us) to acknowledge unfiction in-game outside the forums, or draw the curtain a bit, or some other taboo action, it's not something Unfiction controls - that is entirely up to the creators of the experience in question. However, based on Unfiction's past experiences with ARGs and such campaigns, we have somewhat of an idea of what may or may not be successful, or beneficial to the community, etc.

Unfiction's certainly not the be-all and end-all of right and wrong in ARGs and whatnot, but there's a lot of wisdom going back through the forum's life.

Linking to a UF thread in-game isn't against the Unfiction TOS (and is naturally out of its scope), but it's not necessarily a smart idea if the PMs want to maintain a semblance of sanity and non-confusion in the community (based on past experiences here, of course) Smile

(it's kind of funny sometimes thinking about when this happens though, kind of like telling a child who's pretending to be invisible that they can be seen Smile omgwtfbbqdoesnotcomputewhatjusthappened?! the concept here of being recognized within fiction (based on sound principles, though) is just incomprehensible and practically puts the whole place in a tizzy, hehe)

Alas, it doesn't seem to be an issue any more, so back to the topic... =)

Thanks for the explanation. I only brought up the ToS because I thought that the PM's were about to post on this thread in the next few days as Loki. Loki mentioned in his e-mail that he was looking for another method of communication, and then the link to the tread showed up on the odd-jobs.biz website.

But if the website knows what Loki is up to, AND they have a link to this thread, wouldn't that mean that the website would check this thread regularly to see if Loki posts on it??

Fucking PM had to go and IG the OOG thread.... I feel... Mindfucked....

Of course our PM, the friggin Norse God of mischief, would like to mess with us. Kinda weird knowing he probably reads everything we say, so much so that he'd like to mention us IG.

Alright so, new email.

Also, poking around the website in the "new art" directory where the odin image and such are stored (http://www.odd-jobs.biz/new%20art/), found a couple new images. Haven't found where they're used though.

Wow, new pictures. As soon as I saw those, I immediately thought "Yggdrasil," because of all of the Norse mythology in this.
Since the poem Völuspį has been referenced already, i found where Yggdrasil is first mentioned in the poem.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
An ash I know there stands,
Yggdrasill is its name,
a tall tree, showered
with shining loam.
From there come the dews
that drop in the valleys.
It stands forever green over
Uršr's well.

I can does good? *low self-esteem/utter noob*

[EDIT]: The tree pictures aren't in the source code for the Odin pic, so I think that it was lucky of you to go searching in the directory. Way to go, Poyson!

Actually, "at odd jobs once more we say revealed at Grays gild is the hint to look for Yggdrasil at the website. Grays gild anagrams to Yggdrasil.

Dang, I knew Grays gild was the clue but god knows why I didn't think of a simple anagram after they've been used so frequently.

Anyway, for those who didn't notice, the secret text in the yggdrasil page is "is there any mail or f/e-mail who will help me?"

Also, the title of the page is "Teacher Tells Hue" which has to be another anagram but I can't figure it out yet.

Alright so there was text hidden in the second tree picture.

The hue thing was the clue to that.

In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil ("The Terrible One's Horse"), also called the World Tree, is the giant ash tree that links and shelters all the worlds. Beneath the three roots the realms of Asgard, Jotunheim, and Niflheim are located. Three wells lie at its base: the Well of Wisdom (Mķmisbrunnr), guarded by Mimir; the Well of Fate (Urdarbrunnr), guarded by the Norns; and the Hvergelmir (Roaring Kettle), the source of many rivers.

On the day of Ragnarok, the fire giant Surt will set the tree on fire.

Other names for the tree include: Ask Yggdrasil, Hoddmimir's Wood, Laerad and Odin's Horse.

I assume the poem is specifically mentioning the "Well of Fate" (Urdarbrunnr)

The Guardians were Norns: demi-goddesses of destiny, three sisters one of which was named Urd

Coffee Beaut work y'all. For those who've mentioned here that Loki is still a bad-boy leading us astray his choice of Golden Apple JPEG is intriguing as he used an apple trick to lure Išunn and her golden apples out of Asgard into a "forest". Wiki LINK

Wow, there's been a lot of stuff happening since the last time I checked in. Nice work, everyone Smile

I tried some extensions to Loki's new site... /yggdrasil, /loki, /trail, /justice, /urdarbrunnr etc, but no luck getting something other than a 404 so far.
I'm starting to think the next clue might be in the Karl Justice identity theft document...
