"Generally agreed upon," and "Agreed upon by everyone." are two different things. I was simply stating why the possession of the tapes has been lacking debate.

 		We don't know for sure who left the combination there - it could have been mem-wiped Jay leaving it with Jessica for safekeeping as likely as anything else.

I don't think that Tim had direct access to the tapes. Possibly just knew the combination through spying or such.

Although, I do think that by the end of the 7 month gap Tim and J were allies against Alex.

well then the question must be asked: why would masky attack J in the hotel? if tim and J were on the same side against alex, these are possible truths:

1. it's not tim under the mask (in the hotel) because either a) they did kill tim in 35 or b) someone else is masky/there are multiple maskys/someone was trying to copy him

2. tim was trying to stop J from looking at the tapes, in order to protect him. but from what? and imo, the attack was to violent for that.

3. J betrayed tim or vise versa at the end of the seven months.

(obviously these are just theories, and they are not the only possibilities)

 		The thing with the tapes is that there are unlabeled ones, which if Jay was the only one who had possession of the tapes, then they would all be labeled, so I think it's safe to assume that Tim/TTA/Alex/Jess tampered with the tapes.

Then if one of those people did have possession of the tapes, who's to say that they didn't cut out footage? Granted we don't really have any proof of this, with Entry #34 being the closest we have but that wasn't even a cut.

I just think the existence of the unmarked tapes and Entry #29 is enough to say someone has either added their own tapes or that the tapes have been tampered with.

My thought was to protect J from something that happened later on in the 7 months. To me, it doesn't look like Tim attacked J in 33. He runs in and, to me, it looks like he goes for the tapes in the bag.

J pushes him into the corner and he raises his hand to protect himself when J hits him with the light. He chases after him because J runs.

I think that Tim is unable to talk properly with the mask on (he becomes more animalistic) so he was unable to to tell J to stop. I also thinks that the mask protects him from the Operator, so he keeps it on whenever possible.

Something about this keeps coming to mind. In entry #8, Alex writes in a similar style on the notebook.



They aren't identical, but they're close enough for me to keep thinking back on it. With that out of the way, I want to believe that Timasky is on Jay's side, simply for the fact that Alex doesn't seem too kosher lately. Where totheark fits in, I'm not sure honestly. The attack in entry #33 IS a bit rough if they are friends at this point though. The only thing I'm certain of is that I don't trust Alex at this point. Not only did something about him feel off in the 'flashback' entries as of late, but something about him caused Timasky to completely ignore Jay and go straight for him instead, meaning Timasky felt Alex was more of a threat at that point than Jay somehow.

But something that donned on me just a momment or so ago; what if the masks are the operator's way of giving his followers something he can't have? ie a face?
