I think veljko's very close to the bone. Will elaborate when I get home.

ETA: Okay. I think it's definitely possible given some of the tweets ("WE ARE UNBREAKABLE") that HABIT was born from the gestalt consciousness of the four kids. And I think veljko is right on about HABIT wanting to turn the Rabbits into more agents for propagating his consciousness. But he wants us to see him as strictly supernatural. I don't; as veljko says, I think it may be some outgrowth of a human illness like DID. And maybe that outgrowth came to be from SM's presence in the children's lives - but the "cancer," so to speak, has developed a mind of its own and is now bickering with the source (SM).

This is a lot of quasi-Stephenson/Koji Suzuki bullshit pie in the sky theorizing, but it's worth considering, I think. Was it Ghostbusters where one of the scientists said "we're stroking ourselves heavily here?" We totally are.

I've found something. In "I'm Okay ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1eTMhThN8E )," at 1:32, that distortion...has both laughter like that from "December & early January ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPkDG9B5tto )" at 1:48 and what I'm pretty sure is the siren heard in Joke's Over....

Not sure what that could imply exactly, but I don't think it's been brought up before, and it definitely has not been discussed.

Oh holy shit!

Maybe its Slender Man's laugh, the one he had in the early stories. Both of these events are cases of him taking action.

Could be just what it sounds like: creepy kids laughing FX for....effect.

Ah, sorry, just remembered the "stroking ourselves heavily" line is from John Carpenter's own low-budget supernatural-scientific opus Prince of Darkness. Starring loads of unknowns and Alice Cooper. Great movie. And time trippy.

God, I hate that distortion so much. Jeff is talking sooo quietly, then the distortion is loud. That said, I'd never noticed the laughter before. It's kinda creepy.

I listened pretty hard, but I couldn't hear the sirens you mentioned. Sad

Anyway, I second the postulation that maybe Slendy's laughing. Or it's some kids that he's done god-knows-what with.

In early stuff, did he have a child-like laugh? I seem to recall reading that somewhere, but I don't remember where.

As I remember it, early on in the mythos it was mentioned that whenever Slendy was around, the laughter of children could be heard, or something along those lines. It never really came up in Marble Hornets, so most people forgot about it. (someone please correct me if I'm wrong)

Plus, there's the fact that the guys mentioned in their most recent livestream that when he's around, they hear sirens and 'those kids'. A perfect example of this would be in the 79of77avi, when the sirens sound and you can hear children laughing.

We can? I don't think I've heard the laughter. I thought the only mention we've had to it is from Evan's dream and that gmail chat Jeff had with someone.

edit: wait, do you mean 76of77 or 78?

edit 2: I haven't heard the laughter in places that aren't the voicemail or what was recently pointed out in "I'm okay"

The numbered videos are 78of76.avi and 77of76.avi unless there's a 79of76 that nobody told me about. And I don't think there were children laughing in 77of76, just crows.

Hey guys...I'm new to this website...kinda want to get into ARG and stuff like that. I picked up EverymanHYBRID on a recommendation from a friend since I was so into Marble Hornets...

Basically, I'm catching up right now and I've just barely seen the Seven Trials of Habit video...I was wondering IF anyone signed up for whatever it may be (via sending the edited screencap to the given e-mail...I assume?) and if so, was there a response? Is it still going on, is it worth it? Ya know, like will it immerse me and get me into it some more?

Thanks...I look to be around here more often... Smile

Well, signups are closed, presumably permanently? The rabbits are busy cannibalizing each other and jumping when HABIT says hop. You can find hundreds of RABBIT videos for the trials on youtube. I think the wiki has a list, but I'm scared to visit it.
