notice the symbols on the paper. they should be some indicator of the word order. Hoping we get to see them all.

I'm sure we will - but I sense that maybe we need to solve something first. We have a lot of leads that we haven't yet unravelled, and maybe we need to first?

I've fired off some e-mails to the librarian asking about the history of the library, as well as sending this e-mail to the private guy:

"Don't worry! We'll figure out what's going on in snow town!

I've e-mailed the librarian asking for more information on the history of the library. And hopefully after my post on the guest board she'll think I'm asking legitimately.

I'm going to write a huge report about it anyway, so I may as well ask, you know?

I wanted to ask you if you've seen the snow town blog as well. Maybe Fred is someone whom might be able to tell us more? You should consider asking him about the sign. I think he's seen it before!"

Also... a friend of mine pointed out that there's some odd typos in the guest log on the library website that I think we've overlooked!

I'm posting what she said right here:

???: Mostly weird because of the grammar thing, but...
???: "I am available for volunteer work, If you need any assistance, Feel free to contact me."
???: "being able to be apart of the"
???: " and would rally like to be"
Zobot: the F is capitalized, yeah...
Zobot: apart... rally?
Zobot: That is sorta weird
???: *nods*
???: And it's not just that the F is capitalized- there's something weird going on with a comma splice, too...
???: " I just stumbled upon your beautiful website, so i wanted to ask if I could join your book club."
???: ONE 'I' is lowercase.
???: ...tell me all those are a coincidence.

Out of respect to my awesome friend, her screenname is hidden. But take a look at it and tell me what you think!

Book of Wisdom

Okay, I want to look more into this quote Ruthie has given us, as I think it's important:

Quote:
Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom.

As OCTAF1SH noted this quote has been attributed to Jefferson, so that is one avenue to explore.

Another avenue - it could be in reference to the bible - this information from http://www.thenazareneway.com/book_of_wisdom.htm

Quote:
The Book of Wisdom is one of the books of the Apocrypha; in the Septuagint and Vulgate it is included in the Old Testament. It does not appear in the Hebrew Bible and is placed with the Apocrypha in Protestant versions of the Bible. The book is ascribed to King Solomon and stands in the same intellectual tradition as such earlier collections of proverbial wisdom as Proverbs and the Book of Sirach - hence its full title, the Wisdom of Solomon.

The first chapter is about "An exhortation to seek God sincerely, who cannot be deceived, and desireth not our death" - the full text is at the link above, says much about wisdom but nothing about 'honesty'...

Any further thoughts?

EDIT: AHAH! Reading back over old posts realise that diszaster pointed out the calendar calls the month Solomonth - which could further indicate the reference is to the Book of Solomon.

I think these are just players, doing the normal thing that we do on blogs and forums - our grammar is all over the place!

The key is when something that is said that is "In Game" that stands out as being a made up character rather than another one of us playing the game. Sometimes it's hard to tell, because we're trying to play in our own character ourselves.

Something's fishy...

I'm probably reading into it too much, as i'm tired, but can't stop looking around at the same pages, but the inconsistancy that private is allowed in, without feeling accepted in the ST community is bugging me for some reason....anyway, must sleep, will leave you guys to discover what's in fred's basket!

Yeah, now that you point it out, it does seem bizarre. I think that this can confirm one of two things:

1) Private isn't very consistent in his/her explanations of his/her standing in this community.

2) Private is lying to us about how exactly he/her accesses the vault. First implying that not everyone can gain access to the vault, perhaps suggesting that he/she is a reputable person, but then speaking of how he/she is from away and not every trusts him/her.

After you have brought this to me attention, that Private is "from away", I now realize this is a key clue to the unmasking of Private's identity. While this is not a primary objective, my curiosity burns inside of me... so if anyone finds the time, pay attention to other characters that are from somewhere other than Snow Town.

GUYS! As I post this, the contents of Fred's basket has been uploaded! LETS GET CRACKIN! Very Happy This has made me very very excited.

It looks like the song might be Greensleeves, and the markings on the slips of paper appear to be a pigpen cipher.
Quote:
Alas, my love, you do me wrong,
To cast me off discourteously.
For I have loved you well and long,
Delighting in your company.

Chorus:
Greensleeves was all my joy
Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves was my heart of gold,
And who but my lady greensleeves.

Your vows you've broken, like my heart,
Oh, why did you so enrapture me?
Now I remain in a world apart
But my heart remains in captivity.

chorus

I have been ready at your hand,
To grant whatever you would crave,
I have both wagered life and land,
Your love and good-will for to have.

chorus

If you intend thus to disdain,
It does the more enrapture me,
And even so, I still remain
A lover in captivity.

chorus

My men were clothed all in green,
And they did ever wait on thee;
All this was gallant to be seen,
And yet thou wouldst not love me.

chorus

Thou couldst desire no earthly thing,
but still thou hadst it readily.
Thy music still to play and sing;
And yet thou wouldst not love me.

chorus

Well, I will pray to God on high,
that thou my constancy mayst see,
And that yet once before I die,
Thou wilt vouchsafe to love me.

chorus

Ah, Greensleeves, now farewell, adieu,
To God I pray to prosper thee,
For I am still thy lover true,
Come once again and love me.

chorus

Hmm

Yeah, I recognized this cipher with the tic-tac-toe like things with dots in them from elementary school... I'm working on matching the cards with letters as we speak.

Nice job!
What's Greensleeves from? It sounds familiar.

Youtube Video

I went searching for the song and found this. The lyrics aren't exactly the same as what was posted but it's the same song.

At the moment I am matching the marked cards (the squares, Xs, and dots) to letters. While it seems that enaxor may have already found what the hidden message suggests I will continue to make sure no information is left out.

Nice summary Luci. I haven't solved anything, however I did suggest to Peg that she should ask Fred about Greensleeves.

Time to listen to the song. Thanks whitellama

Notecard Pigpen Deciphered

So like I said I would, I finished deciphering the pig-pen cipher on the images, and wrote the letter represented on each card. I haven't stopped yet to think about their meaning but that will be my next step. All 15 images are attached in a zipped folder.
