They're not the parents. They're suicide-letter recepients, along with Linnie.

The parents are a seperate story in the pasta

Right... I overstated a bit by calling them parents... BUT they are connected to a Linnie.

But we still have stuff to work with though.

We have 5 player's from the pasta.

-Whoever killed themselves in 1964
-William*
-Rose*
-Linnie*
-Whoever wrote down the information

*accounted for in EMH, plus the rake

A good point. Could just be a very sincere homage, but since when do they do anything as "arbitrary" as that would be...

Should also be noted that the bag where we first saw the Linnie/William letter was found in Jim Thorpe.

Fuck it. Obvious nagging note is obvious.

And also nagging.

Quote:
Hi guys- don't mean to bother you again. Over in Angorachat we're all processing your latest vid. Our sympathies go out to Jessie and her family.

Obviously we don't want to intrude on or trivialize a personal matter but given the connection to the Corenthals I couldn't help but consider some of the recent troubles with the body you found, as well as the incidents in Alex's room and I have to ask: Jeff, have you contacted Maryann Corenthal again? Do you have her number? I realize your encounter with her apparently didn't end well but I think it might be prudent to call her, or have someone else in the family call, and see that she's alright. Anyway, think about it and do call her if you can - if you want.

Best,
[qaqa]

Rereading the pasta, I wonder if maybe there is more to it EMHwise, rather than just a homage.

I've been in contact with a member of this group and was able to get some exceprts from their upcoming book.

He knew of two other people in New York who had seen the creature we now referred to as the Rake.

It took the four of us about two solid years of hunting on the internet and writing letters to come up with a small collection of what we believe to be accounts of the Rake

Assuming that the group mentioned in the first quote are the people in the second quote, what if the two people in NY were Linnie and William? That makes the mother, her son Justin...and some other people as possible players

Ahh... That is... that is also a good point. Don't know if it signifies, but...
Hah why do I have to be so damn tired right now, I can't even think properly. These sudden new events wiped out the remainder of my ability to function coherently. I think short of anything else going down tonight, I'm going to leave intelligent debate to you guys and hit this first thing in the morning. I think it's safe to assume there will be no HABIT until the 27th...?
WAIT. Since it was obvious the Rake was the culprit, and we have plenty of reason to believe HABIT is involved where Rake is, could the tweet a couple days ago actually have been referring to Rose? Was she the "rabbit" in that? That could be a problem, if he calls everyone "rabbit" indescriminately- how can we know when he means any victim at all and not a Rabbit rabbit? This cuts down severely on our ability to use his tweets as a potential early warning system... I always assumed he'd differentiate.

qaqa, I think the message is fine. I mean, how else can we do it?
Also, how the fuck did I confuse Rose with Maryanne a few minutes ago? This is proof I need to sleep.

Dissecting the pasta even further, the suicide notes were in a wooden box. All that was in there was the note about the rake, the note to Linnie, and two empty envelopes addressed to William and Rose.

We dont' know if this was something recovered in 1964 from the suicidee. Maybe, it's something that was sent to the group in NY in more recent times. I mean, a wooden box with dated letters and missing information(possibly with talking about people in the present day with the same names as older ones) has HABIT written all over it, right?

I just think it's painfully obvious and probably redundant of me. IG I imagine he already thought of it. And since I'm already supposed to wait to hear back on something else I felt as though I was being rude. It's funny the things I freeze up about whereas I can be assertive and/or overbearing often IRL.

I have never been able to totally parse the Rake creepypasta which I think is strange, romantic and obscure. I've never totally gotten it and I can't begin to follow the allusions as per EMH, beyond the fact that we have A Rose, A William and A Linnie and I don't think they directly correspond to their roles in the original story. It seems to me EMH's Linnie was a later adoptee of the Corenthals.

You're probably right, qaqa.

And I'd prefer it to just be a homage

With all the boxes HYBRIDS have found, I can't help but think about the major paradoxes in the canon story. I mean, I'm not saying that the boxes are from the past or future, it just made me think of that for some reason O_o
