i live like 40 minutes from both jim thorpe and centralia.

The question is just if we are to assume the dead mayor is canon, or just accidental. I guess canon though, since NOTHING the guys do is accidental!!

As for the CC-references: yep, they are IG and obvious. And we love them!!

 		So we can assume that Jessie met Linnie, because she was her (not biological, if she was 'adopted' by Rose and William) aunt, right? Rose was, as said, most likely killed by Rake because she knew about the Docter + children. So i guess Rake is controlled by HABIT then...hmm

 		WRONG - Linnie has no family connection to William and Rose. We know that William and Linnie knew each other (see: letters IG and from Rake CP), but there's no mention anywhere of family-ties.

IF they are siblings, then that's not been mentioned yet anywhere apart from speculation.

You may be right. The relevant section from the 1981 Corenthal letter reads:

If he'd intended to leave Linnie with his brother or sister, "we'll find others" seems an odd thing to say. The bit about Rose being "known for her work with foster children" seems to be suggestive, though.

Mike Sofranko is the name of the current mayor of Jim Thorpe. I am fairly certain that his name is just there to give the article credibility.

 		I'd like to point out that everybody has two sets of grandparents. It's entirely possible that Corenthal is on one side of Jessie's family, and Rose is on the other. Unlikely because of unnecessary complexity, but still possible.

I know the creepypasta points to it, but can we really just write it off as a Rake attack? It could have been Slendy. It could have been HABIT. Hell, it could have just been a deer fucking a bear that she happened to walk in on and they got angry at her.

I mean, right there we have two monsters, a maniac and a possible interspecies erotica as suspects.

I'm not saying it isn't the Rake, it probably IS, but I don't want to just write off the other possibilities.

Of course, it's really early and I'm still waking up, so what do I know?

Edit: To make this more on-topic: I don't think we can read anything about familial relationships from their names based on the creepypasta. The guys might just be checking off the names to make sure they make all the references.

That doesn't sound like the guys to me. I agree that the original story gives us very little to go on in terms of relationships, but mindless name-checking? I don't think so. The Linnie/William name-check earlier was more than enough to cement the creepypasta in the lore. They wanted us to connect Rose, William, Linnie and Jessie for a reason.

This actually thrills me. I had long been concerned that Jessie was an unnecessary tack-on... "Oh, hey! You happen to be in the car while we're filming, let's give you a minor role in the story!" But thankfully it looks like I didn't have enough faith in them.

No, no, we know he's her great-uncle, we're just wondering if Rose and William adopted Fairmount Linnie, thus giving Jessie another connection to Corenthal.
