Luipaard, nah I totally got ya now. XD
Yeah I was pretty sure others had figured this out but it was such a wham kind of moment for me, not because it could be Trial 7 date, but because of the implications of the "crucifixion/resurrection" idea. And also sometimes I'm slow in the way that I stare at obviously significant things, think to myself "that's significant", but think it for the totally wrong reasons and miss completely the actual significance until like way after everyone else already sucked the marrow from its bones and moved on. That's just how I do sometimes.

easter's a fertility festival. (resurrection=rebirth=fertility) rabbits = fertility. also, they are cute and cuddly and easy to shoehorn into an advertising campaign.

Unfortunately, the Wicker Man type of fertility festival does not seem to have taken off in the States.

Also, the holiday that the Christians stole their imagery from was for the pagan goddess Eostre or Ostara (Eostre.... Easter.... get it?) and her festival, which was a spring fertility festival, included the eating of eggs and rabbits to absorb their reproductive abilities.

And yes, luckily enough, rabbits are cute so they hung around.

Along the lines of all the Jessa/Linnie/Steph stuff we discussed last night, I noticed this interesting exchange between Steph and a visitor to CYSTW in December:

Quote:
Anonymous asks: Good to see you still okay. (I keep meaning to make an account here so probably won't be nameless next time I'm here!) I've meant to ask you though. Have you ever known a girl named Linnie?

Can't say I have off the top of my head. Although it does sound familiar. Is she a friend of yours?

I've often wondered about that too.

Although, this sends me to a tangent.

The guys have acknowledged IG that they knew of the Candle Cove CP, however...I'm right in thinking that they hadn't heard of the Rake CP, right? I know it's been sent to them, but I don't think they knew about it before hand.

I alluded to this last night, but is it possible that the entire Rake CP is IG?

edit: I think I hijacked qaqa's point with my tree. My intial reaction to the name being familar to Steph is because she was either
A. Familar with the Pasta
B. Seen it tossed around by us.

With what we know now about Jessie's family and possibly how tightly connected the players might actually be, there's more options.

C. Since Steph has no doubt endured more Slendy stress than anyone else, it's possible that she's had instances like what we saw in the hidden tapes and she..on some level...has experienced "flashbacks" to the Fairmount Four days...and of Linnie
D. Has met Linnie at some point in her past

Has anyone established when Linnie joined the Corenthal family?

The creepypasta ends stating that the original version of the story came up in an SA ghost story thread. Have we looked into that at any point?

It might be worth looking into.

To follow up on the edit I made up there ^

As far as I can tell(from a quick scan of the letters) there isn't a mention of Linnie until the 1981 letter. So she must have showed up at some point after xmas 1976.

To speculate a bit, is it possible that her prescence was a harbinger or catalyst for the Fairmount Fours' 'demise'?

If anyone is dying to ask Jessie tacky, ill-timed questions, she's responding to well-wishers on her YouTube account.

Funny; when I found out that Dr. Corenthal was invented by them I started to wonder the same thing. But from what I hear, The Rake predates EverymanHYBRID.

Also,
I'm on Page 153 of the 2010 thread. This is bitterly ironic.

@havesomethinfun

You aren't going to try and read it all, are you? Only, sanities have been lost over far less. Think about what you're throwing away for a moment, there's still a chance to turn back.

Wink

@re: the CP

Is it advisable to bring the CP more fully to their attention? If they, IG, claim to have little knowledge of the CP, shouldn't we remedy that? Especially interesting are the names that match closely those around them. The odds of all that happening randomly are pretty low.[1]

[1] Admittedly, this is a big, big world and if you keep throwing the dice weird stuff will eventually happen.

I don't know what is really gained by them knowing the CP in and out, outside of the rose-william-linnie connection...which should me made clearer soon.

HABIT is the one who seems to be pulling the strings(that we can see). I'd rather them be slightly more concerned with him

So... y'all remember the latest livestream in black and white, where our guys were kind of out of it? They had us submit questions early and all that?

Well, I sent them an e-mail on behalf of all of us sending our love and support and apologizing for any dumb-ass questions that may have bothered them, and stuff... and I just got an e-mail back. Thought I'd share it with y'all....

Quote:
Thanks Alejandra, its a big help to the boys and me just to kno someone is watching and gives a rats ass ya kno? Don't worry about the questions we welcome them. the clearer everyone is and the more info we all got the better i think. take it easy. [E]
