 		Something else I just noticed, Peg said Fred wandered down Tempest Trail. The Bone Orchard is in that direction. Surprise = none.

I'm really feeling for Private, here. And things aren't going to get any better anytime soon...

 		Private's snow cave has me worried.

 		I got an email from private as well, it has basically the same information as the one to Sally though

 		I have sent questions to Edward posing as a friend of luci's. Will post his responses when I get them. I also sent a reply to Ruthie with an apology, I will likely be late to the book club today.

...has anyone else been getting odd e-mails from different email accts warning them about going into the snow, or is this just me? I wanted to know if I am just going crazy or if this is part of the art. I tried responding to a few but it just bounced my response back to me and said it didn't go through?

Oh, and because I am growing concerned I sent Private a request to leave snow town for a short time like Fred did. Dunno if she/he'll take me seriously, but there you go.

So I sent Natasha an email last night I told her I enjoyed the story Ruthie shared with us on the Historical Society page and asked her if she had any stories to share. I ended my email with the mention of "Song of The Bell", just to let her know we had seen her message. I knew there was more to the story. Here is her reply. Shocked Shocked Shocked

Do you believe Ruthie Randolph's drivel? Her story is half baked and only half true. The first time the Snow People came to Snow Town was a night something like Ruthie describes on her library page. This is the version of the story told again and again by many Snow Town Citizens, especially when we're speaking with people from "away". The truth of that night in 1711 is quite different.

The first three families who came to Snow Town were not simply escaping the violence of the many early conflicts. These families were running away from other colonists. The Hoskins, Haynes and Harmons were marked, due to their beliefs. Most people think the Puritans founded America. This is a lie. Many, many others fled England and the rest of Europe because they had very different ways of seeing and making sense of the world around them. The Harmons, Haynes and Hoskins were, and some are still today, followers of an Esoteric religion, labeled in 1711 as "Spiritualists". These three families created their own religion called "The Society". Some say Job Harmon was a Rosicrucianist who came to the colonies to create his own form of those traditions. The Society dabbles with magic, many forms of alchemy and believes nature to be a living entity. The Society's traditions included a deep connection to certain symbols and rituals. With this in mind, now imagine these three families escaping persecution and hiding out here in Snow Town. Did they hear invaders on that dark night? I am sure they did, but they did not huddle and pray. These three families walked the Spiral and called out to the world around them for protection. Protection arrived in the form of these Snow People. No harm ever came to the three families from any human invader and a week of frolicking followed. They enjoyed their magical week, but they also paid a price. We still do. The benevolent Snow People turned on them. It is their nature.

I made a vow to my father, years ago, that I would live to stop the Snow People. I am an old woman now, Roxanne, and I will do everything I can to keep my promise. I confess to you that I am a high level member of the Society, but I believe we can use our traditions to finally stop the Snow People. The other Society members do not agree with my thinking. They believe we should walk only in the footsteps of our forefathers and foremothers. Use caution when dealing with them in the days ahead. You will need them to get where you are going, but you must not include them in our secret plan to stop the Snow People.

I refuse to tell you anymore, Roxanne. You will know the ending to this story soon enough. In my heart, dear, I have faith that you will help to change our course. Stay close to Peg and guide her. Help her to remain fearless in the face of the evil ahead. She will need you and your friends every step of the way.

It is so nice to hear you enjoy Song of the Bell as well, dear. Next time you drive through Snow Town, I would love to have you over for tea.

Thank you for your interest.  Also, thank you for recognizing the important role I play here in Snow Town.  Most Snow Town citizens don't realize the amount of work I do to keep the library and the Historical Society going.  I do love this place, but I feel many take me for granted.  Without my organizational skills and personal contacts, these institutions would fall apart.  You are right, I am more than a Host!

Does she walk the spiral? And is a spiral a labyrinth? I know it's used as a meditation tool in some religions.

If I'm understanding Spiritualist correctly would it explain why Louise is reaching out from beyond? And would that make Fred a medium? Or is "The Society" based on something different? With the belief in nature, were/are they Pagans?

Oh! How rude of me. Forgive me.

Sent nht an email asking about the society. Also reading up a bit on Rosicrucianistism. Which is kinda trippy. But may be useful to know about going forward.

What is walking the spiral? Is it something outside the game's context or is it just part of snow town wit the spiral references?

 		The spiral could be a few things.
It kinda looks like those crop circle spirals that you see....spiritual snow people aliens? o.O

Walking the Spiral could be a meditative tool, a lot of different belief systems use walking a circle/spiral/labyrinth as a way to ground themselves, meditate and "become one" with whatever they are attempting to reach /reach out to.
