ZI Acquaintance and Candy Message from a Friend More trailhead emails, I'm a magnet for these things. If this relates to an existing game, then let me know; the email seems to suggest that:

Subject: I hope you do not mind me passing this on to you.
From: afriendSPLAT fastmail.jp
I was sent this by a friend of mine who's working as an intern at the
Central Intelligence Agency. He says that this came across his desk, but
they decided to disregard it. Having played ARGs for years, I figured
I'd send it along to you. This email address is temporary, and I will
not be checking it or replying to any questions you have.

Good luck.
This is an odd one - the links at the top don't actually lead anywhere. Plus he's referenced ARGs...

I got that also. I was wondering if I should post a trailhead on that or not.
I agree it's an odd one.
I wonder if the links are not supposed to work on purpose or not.
At least I now know it's not spam.

They are .onion adresses:

I don't really know how to reach them, maybe i'll have a closer look when i'm not at work.

Okay now it just get's odder.
You can't access it through a normal web browser because the server's hidden. I'm trying the software that's used to access it.
Edit: I've accessed it. Just another message.

Let's see about the other one.

Looking by the time date's it's a new one maybe?
The software used to access those kind of servers is called Tor. If you feel safe with downloading it then go ahead, but using it takes a tax on your internet because it makes your connection through a network, and bouncing them off it.
Does anyone know the code? I can get cracking at it right away I just haven't been in this long enough to know that type of code.

I've tried ROTing it, Playfairing it, Vignere-ing it etc etc. But a lot of the decoders require Keys and short of "ZIACQUAINTANCE" and "CANDY" theres not a lot to go on.

It looks a little like Base 64, but it's not. Could be an earlier base?

I've gotten the same email.
So, that means I'm in this.

I have as well. It seems odd to me, gotten 2 trailheads in 2 days, haven't seen one in months before.
EDIT: try using Thanatos or Sotanaht as a password, the writing seems similar to the villan training email

Onion addresses are Tor hidden services.
http://j5qip3qf64esrbww.onion/ziacquaintance.html

You can access them with tor2web.org:

Yep, got it as well.
So we have a bunch of unsolved codes then?

I received this too, for the record.
If it helps I noticed the codes in the email seem to be split into lines of 36 characters, except the last line which is always significantly shorter. It doesn't look that way on the website though.

Can't get to any of those links because the corporate firewall flags it as "Proxy Avoidance".

Checked my email today to find that I had it too. Never done any code breaking, so I won't be much help, but I did notice something.
If you put them in a monospaced font (which I do to anything I copy since I'm a programmer and it's become instinct) the letters arrange in a grid.

Did message 68 and 70 come in the same lined format? If they did then the grid would be this.

Hope this helps in some way.

Just in case my grid thing is true, I've done this with the update in the post just before this... Even though the appearance of an email address kinda disproves the grid.
