EMAIL: Crazy stuff went down last night

pass it off that I just overheard the emergency calls while working late at the
Municipal Building and headed there out of curiosity. I guess I was somewhat
successful; Dawn seemed to buy it but Pat and Doug sure had a lot of questions
for me, many leading back to whether or not I knew if Dale was involved in the
incident somehow. There seems to be a shift in their attitude towards Dale
lately, and the pretense of concern that used to be there is almost entirely
gone.
It really wasn't much of a fire or anything but it seems there were also
reports of strange lights and noises from the house right around the same time.
By this morning it seems they've already decided to pass it off as vandalism or
kids playing pranks.
I found many e-mails waiting for me when I was finally able get back to my
computer, many of them forwarding the "Digitalis" e-mail to me. I can't believe
that Wes is gone. It's just not right and I feel terribly to blame. I should
have at least been there with him. Or maybe we should have handled things
altogether differently and tried to get more people or the authorities
involved. I'm so damn angry with myself. And to make things worse, we don't
even know for sure where Dale is or even that he is truly OK.
I'm trying to get through the day here at work even though I'm exhausted from
not getting much sleep at all. Please, if you or anyone else hear from Dale
please let me know. Also, if anything from the guides new message means
anything to you - like who the "Numbered Ones" may be - please let me know.
I keep wishing this is all a bad dream that I'm going to wake up from as soon
as the sun comes up. But so far, there's no sign of light.

As I ask around, I look to see who might have tipped off the police (I'm thinking that they might be the Numbered Ones, but it's a bit early to be sure). I can trace back well-meaning communication to Bruce telling him what you were going to do and think that it adds him to the list of folks who might have tried to get police/fire there to "help" Dale. Also, Bruce has been in contact with the Marzano family recently, but I'm not expecting that they were involved last night. I would think that they'd avoid police contact if possible.

I imagine that it would be easy to find Wes if he's at the police station (as a suspected arsonist) or the hospital if he were injured. If you don't find him there, then we have to wonder if the Numbered Ones weren't the authorities.

You still have the spare wood. We may need it later, so please save it.

If I have more for you, I'll let you know.
