Well, it didn't say killed TRON, it said defeated.
But yeah, a potentially very annoying spoiler.

Does this mean that you guys aren't excited to learn that the dreamy Justin Bieber is going to be in the Tron: Legacy sequel? Apparently he's going to teach us about abstinence and wholesome things like that.
It'll take at least 2 years to get a sequel out, by which time he will probably have developed a coke habit or some such thing, and considering his idol and mentor is Usher, probably at least one failed relationship. As for abstinence? HA! I'm pretty sure the only thing that kid abstains from anymore is humility.

Are we so lacking in content that we're seriously having a conversation about Justin Bieber?!?

FlynnLives.Com is still dated May 13

FlynnLives.Com is still dated May 13. Is that an answer to your question?
The ARG was (optimists will still say Is) phenomenal. SWAG everywhere, lots of participation world-wide, awesome content at every turn.
After Flynnlives.com literally shuts down after May 13th, the ARG lives on when in July postcards start arriving. Again, a truly amazing and rewarding ARG, and I am now thinking it was too good. After July 22's reveal of the identityraid puzzle, you needed to be a Comicon attendee to fully appreciate all of the ARG's greatness, but the puzzle solving and new HelloFlynn codes kept all of us involved. A new trailer is always a great reward.
We are reaching with the toys, comics, Disney's movie site updates, and sound track updates, but the Flynn Lives ARG has been DEAD.
From July 22 till now, Oct 5, the ARG sounds like crickets... Since May 13th FlynnLives has been silent. Is it really normal for ARG's to take a 3 month dead-air break? I wish the ARG powers reading this give us at least content updates... It's no wonder Justin BB finally got brought into the conversation LOL.

I feel reasonably confident we'll get some activity approaching the movie date.
Do remember that TDK had a sort of contest for pre-screenings; I'm hoping that will be the case here as well.

Woah, looks nice.
Conclusions drawn:
-Guess the process of brainwashing Tron into Rinzler took more than just his "sacrifice" so Flynn could get away. Wonder how exactly our titular hero fell
-If this show is still in production, doest this mean Disney is testing the waters to see if its still worth continuing on with the trilogy plans? Maybe they're just doing it because its too late to pull the plug now, but you never know...
-I wonder if there will be alot of merchandice for this show. Maybe we'll have another shot at a Legacy Tron figure.

I'm totally stoked but I'm trying so hard not to be!
I'm still on the fence. This might still be an early preview/test. It does look "good" but not "great". I don't hate CGI shows but there is such a wide gap between the well animated and the "oh-god-kill-it-with-fire" ones. And we get almost nothing to go on in this short clip to the actual animation of the show besides our hero's jump and grab (which does look good). I'm going to have to reserve judgment on the animation part until we see more; walk-cycles, speaking, hair.
That being said ... I cannot flippin' WAIT!
As much as I loved Legacy all I could think was "ARGGG!" after it was over. We only see a small part of this giant story in the movie. Betrayal and Evolution did expand that view but there is this MASS of story missing. Uprising could go on for a long time and not even put a dent in it.
-----------------------
My quickie conclusions are thus:
- This fellow in the preview is not Tron but Beck (Elijah Wood's character) who is going to be the "hero" of the show. The pattern of his circuits is not the same as the configuration of Tron's which they've kept very uniform across the franchise so I doubt they'd change it up now. And this guys got Brown eyes - I don't know if for canon's sake that Tron has blue eyes but it's a good bet.
- At the end of the Betrayal comic we see Tron get away. He looks injured but there's no telling if it's just that he's hurt or Clu did something more to him and LET him get away.
- Flynn's not going to appear in the show at all. Or if he does it's just going to be very briefly at the beginning.
What I really REALLY want (but probably not get in 1000 cycles):
- To see the metamorphosis of program society would be awesome. I want to see the programs become the classical Roman Empire Mob, willing to cast off anything as long as they get their "bread and circuses" out of Clu's leadership.
- ISOs fighting en mass.
- Tron in complete and utter turmoil, slowly shutting down or getting more corrupted over time and not knowing why. I'm an evil fan-woman, I know.

I agree with your conclusions.
And. I didnt realize that North/Frodo was going to be in it. That could be cool.
Im really worried that they will not get the audience that Disney wants and it will get canceled half way through or close to the end - leaving us nerdy adults sad and longing for more. Or, that they will have a bad ass cartoon on their hands and not have a planned out ending which will lead to the series never getting to a main conclusion.

I know what you mean. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Disney. 80% of the time I LOVE them and 20% of the time I want to stab myself in the face with a spork it's so bad.
Unfortunately 19.9% of that 20% is their television productions. Most of their TV is just plain horrible and the few shows that had potential (almost entirely animation) but the tone and direction seem to fluctuate wildly. So far the only thing on the Disney Channel/Disney XD half worth watching (as an adult) is the new Avengers cartoon which is only about half through it's first season; I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop on that one.
I have no problem loving a show that's aimed at 8-14 year old boys, but the industry as a whole tends to "write down" to that age bracket and that tends to kill a show.

The older cartoons were aimed at the adults watching it with their kids at the same time aimed at the kids (such as Ren and Stimpy, X-Men, and Batman the Animated Series). Newer cartoons try to aim directly at the kids more these days, we adults are just supposed to play with our smart phones and be happy.

I completely agree with the sentiment that modern children's programming is crap. I'm really hoping that TRON: Uprising will be much more in the vein of Batman: The Animated Series, the 2D Star Wars: Clone Wars (which was in my opinion better than both of the movies it tied into), and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
