splitting the cost evenly among the sets, looks like each Recognizer & Light cycle set is going to run $145 plus shipping from me to you. If you live in or near LA, San Diego, Sacramento, SF, Portland, Seattle, Reno, El Paso, Phoenix, Tucson, or El Centro, there would be no additional cost as I can deliver it to you as long as you are willing to wait 4-90 days.

I'm also asking that if you can, chip in an extra $5 (per person, not per set) so that I can send our friend a 'thank you' present.

I do not know how much shipping will be as the bikes have not come in. Hoping today since the holiday is over.

Current interest:
1. SCS (me)
2. RustyMuffler
3. RustyMuffler
4. MadOpal
5. JediKnight0
6. Mr.Sci-Fi

Please let me know if this list is still accurate. I think the final price is a bit more than expected, but shipping was quite expensive. I am hoping shipping from me to you wont run over $20. If I missed someone, please let me know.

I'm definitely still in and the additional $5 sounds fine to me.

I'm near SF (San Jose specifically), but unless you are going to be in the area within a week and a half or so I'd probably just go ahead and pay the shipping from you to me.

I'll be in San Jose on April 7th.

Not quite Tron, but Tron-esque:

Ozzy Osbourne's "Space Suit" that looks a lot like a TRON suit from the recent Best Buy Superbowl ad with Justin Bieber

I have not found the Gem or Siren Sisters in larger format yet but I am sure they are out there.

Is there a Gem or Siren Sisters version of this? I haven't seen those in any format. Could someone please post even the a small format vesions?

Thanks,
Carl

found where to get the fullsize images

the official disney tron site has them available if you ride the lightcycle and collect orbs and if you are at a destination like the Grid or the End Of Line Club there are little orbs there as well and collecting each one gets you 1000 points.

each of these posters is 5000 points.

Do they give you actual posters or images to print?

they call them posters on the site but they are actually images to print.

here are the three urls.

http://a.dolimg.com/franchise/tron/_images/programUpgrades/download_assets/women_of_tron_jpgs_150dpi/trn_poster_women_sirens_150.jpg
http://a.dolimg.com/franchise/tron/_images/programUpgrades/download_assets/women_of_tron_jpgs_150dpi/trn_poster_women_quorra_150.jpg
http://a.dolimg.com/franchise/tron/_images/programUpgrades/download_assets/women_of_tron_jpgs_150dpi/trn_poster_women_gem_150.jpg

So do you think the poster on ebay could just be printed version of the posters and not actual Poster posters (if that makes sense)?

Can't confirm but a very good possibility. The first person I saw selling them had several of the Gem and Quorra and was selling them for I think $20 approximately. I think those were legit. But I have not found any way to discern between Disney printed and bootleg printed at least through the internet.

I noticed the discussion about the Tron posters "Women of Tron" being sold on Ebay that apparently originated from a game on the Tron website. I actually spent a good amount to get one of these - the Gem one - although not the $300 plus that some folks were paying. I did get my poster from the same seller that made those hefty profits.

I cannot say for certain, and I don't want to get all wild with my theories. I just know exactly what happened to me. The print that came looked pretty bad. All the edges were pixelated and fuzzy. It not only looked like a print out from a computer, it wasn't even a good print out.

At first, I was just going to let it go, but I came across this very forum and saw what was being discussed so I pursued a refund. As of today, I did get a refund for everything except the shipping costs to get it back to that seller. It was extremely difficult though and probably would not have happened were it not for Ebay's limited buyer protection. That seller got extremely emotional and argumentative. They refused at first, then got into some kind of crazy 75% refund thing, said stuff like I had gone longer than 30 days (I brought it up way before that), and made all sorts of odd metaphors that made no sense. And they gave me really odd criteria for mailing it back, like I had to mail it flat and padded, when they shipped it to me originally in a cheap tube.

Anyway, I just hope that someone considering purchasing from this seller, with the Women of Tron prints, might see this so they don't lose a bunch of money or have to deal with the same kind of trouble. Thanks.

Glad to hear you were able to get your money back.

Just as a side note. I have found a lot of bootleg Flynn Lives shirts selling on ebay as well. Sure there are several that are distinguishable from the actual shirts because "Flynn Lives" goes across the whole chest or "Flynn" is above "Lives" but the shirt comes in a multitude of colors. There are also several that are exact to the official shirt except for the shirts they are printed on. The "Flynn Lives" and the "Flynns Arcade" shirts with out black light ink are on American Apparel shirts. As for the shirts with the black light ink. They are all on TULTEX shirts for both "Flynn Lives" and "Flynns Arcade".

All the bootlegs I have seen have been on Gildan shirts. Someone event claimed that they found a case of shirts at an arcade that closed in Florida to give a back story to why they had so many shirts available. I assume to try and prevent getting sued.

I knew those damn posters were fakes!

The same people had way too many of them for them to be so rare. And it sounds like that butthole was trying to make you ship it in all sorts of special ways in order to get you to back off. Should of just told him you were sending it back because it was not as described and in the same way he sent it to you. If they didnt like that open an ebay case and tell the bung its out of his hands now. If you told ebay what you told us about the description of the poster they would have totally refunded your money since it is false sale and not what you were being told you were buying. I dont mind bootlegs but I get pissed when people sell them off as real. We should all go down and kick him in the nuts! (For legal issues - IM JOKING).

As a statement to how Disney didn't know what they had in Tron, did anyone notice that there were no fast food tie-ins with this movie? Normally a big budget movie, even ones with rather adult themes like Iron Man and Star Trek, have fast food toys and promotions.

That part always bothered me since it would've been a slam dunk. Instead, Disney looks like it doesn't know if Tron was supposed to be a movie for kids or adults when it could've been both.

Yeah it's kind of funny when you think about it , disney's advertising was trying to sell it to the adults but ended up telling a story more at a kids level. My two 10 year olds ate tron up, they loved it and I think most kids did as well as any adult that's still a kid at heart. To have spent so much effort at the adult level of advertising and then not to do so much as a kid's meal promotion is ridiculous. There is a tron cartoon planned for later this year so maybe then? or for the april release of the dvds?

Interesting you should mention this. My kids noticed there were not any toy tie-ins for Happy Meals too. They were very disappointed in December when the golden arches had Barbies and Transformers. They did not even have, if they were marketing to teens/adults, glasses or a meal special or even sweepstakes. I mean what is up with that? You would think they would have offered a weekend trip to see ElecTRONica at California Adventure and minor food prizes.

My now 7 year old son was very disappointed. He wanted a TRON birthday party really bad.

I found out they grudgingly made a picture of a light cycle that lit up. It was a flat cake topper and that was it. No plates, invitations, napkins, or decorations. He was quite upset that I could not give him this type of party. (I have to admit I have pulled a couple of seeming miracles for him. *cough* Actual stormtroopers *cough*) It would have tied in great with the activity we had for the party. We went Cosmic Bowling at one of the bowling centers here.

I looked around on line and the print places wanted me to pay through the nose to have anything "official" made.

to make licensed stuff the printer has to pay a big fee and that gets passed to you. Just to do NFL it's 500.000.00 I think and you have to give them a nice % per sale.

I'm about 95% sure its the 1918 Scribner's Sons first edition. It could have been the first printing by an America company but I'm not certain.

Both the cover illustration and the inner plates were by N.C. Wyeth.

I've attached the best two pictures I could scrounge up of that edition.
