huzzah! hey_bev is a go.

Right on time: 17:43 at the Cork N. Cleaver payphone. Axon is hot, and hey_bev is 5/5 thanks to the AZ Beekeepers!

On a side note, we ate there after the call -- mighty fine grub, if a bit pricey. Hopefully there will be another scheduled call around lunchtime so I can try a hamburger. mmmmmmm....

nobodyman - if you send the info to the payphone site, including the new number of the phone, they will post the new number. (Post all the info here too, just in case). Melissa may then use the right number on her next attempt...

Good suggestion! I've just sent the updated numbers to the Payphone Directory that's the only place I found it. I'll also send an email to the SP.

Looks like we got quite a few ASU axons again. Anybody scouted this out yet? Better yet, anyone gonna be able to hit those locations on tuesday? I can get the 16:55 axon on tuesday but dunno about the others.

Re: anybody scouted ASU

I'm currently dorming at ASU - I'll hopefully be getting a group together to run the axons. Here's a list of times and their corresponding locations:

12:27 - NE Corner of Palo Verde E
12:51 - East of Student Services
1:11 - North of Bateman Phys Sci D
1:14 - West of Farmer Education Building
1:19 - Parking Structure 1
1:23 - Cady Mall, just south of MU
1:36 - Orange Street, NE Corner of Phys. Ed East
1:44 - SW Corner of Computing Commons
2:31 - North of Bateman Phy Sci G
3:29 - SW Corner of Goldwater Center

For information on these locations, just go to http://www.asu.edu and look for the online map.

As you can see, there's a series of 4 axons in the middle that are going to be rather difficult to hit by one's self. We're going to need to seperate groups in seperate locations for those. I'll see if I can manage to get some interest around the dorms, but is anyone on the forums planning to go to the ASU axons? We could use some help ^^;;

Hey, I've got a group together at ASU as well. We've been responsible for the vast majority of everything going online, although I think you may have gotten a couple as well? PM me or get me on AIM cos we've staked our claim on quite a few of these axons as well. Wink

Yeah...we've already got a group for the ASU axons pretty well coordinated. The AZ Mills ones are open, though, as are the 13:14 and 13:44 ones at ASU. PM me for further coordination (I'm working with G3K, upthread)

So how many axons are still on campus, waiting to be tapped?

5 October ASUxons

Okay. My team and I are planning on getting the 13:21, 13:24, 13:34, and 14:33 axons. The rest, due to scheduling conflicts this week, we can't get, and are open season.

It is also a reasonable assumption that the game continues in the current line. This makes next week...interesting, since Wednesday's the third presidental debate. Oh, joy.

EDIT: (10/5, 3:26 PM) We dropped the ball today. Brian and I went to AZ Mills just barely before the second set fired, and we couldn't find the correct phone banks in time. I thought there was a team set up to take the Mills axons each week, but apparently not today, at least. Somehow the 10:33 axon in the first Mills set went live, although I have no idea how that happened and I'm probably just reading the charts wrong.

As far as the on-campus axons, their firing times just didn't sync with any of the normal hunters' class schedules. Nobuyuki, I have no clue where you were at today - I mean, I know you don't have class, although you probably have a life outside of the game, heh heh - and no one else stepped up to fill the void. Perhaps I should have been clearer about none of us being available for them. Although it's equally unlikely and sad that we're really the only ones out here who know about this game...

We'll never get any live calls this way... Sad

Moral of the story: Skip class?!

Guess it's a non-issue, as all non-answered axons were cancelled today. Dang! As it so happened, work has entered a critical phase and I just couldn't get away.... no phones for me.

I'm hoping that the next set will have some arizona locations around lunchtime... if so I'll be able to steal away for a bit.

I am relatively sure they still ring even after being cancelled. It's only slightly less important to get them enhottenated, just so that Melissa will continue calling them over the coming weeks. I agree, though, that this week's times were just about the least convenient ever. :-/

Yes, they apparently do keep ringing despite being labelled "cancelled." Good opportunity to up your personal axon count, or to continue to research phones at a difficult location.

The issue, at least with the on-campus axons, was that we simply didn't have enough people participating. I mean, last week, I met three other people at the PV Main axon, and Nobuyuki aka "Bike Guy" was mobile enough to get even the ones we couldn't run to fast enough. Without N00byuki (Wink) on hand, we Honors College kids very well couldn't skip class, could we? (I did it once and it was really unfulfilling. A live call would change that, though.)

Anyway, I'm as much trying to bring out any ASU lurkers here as I am the hardened veterans. If the game gets any bigger, or stays this size - and I'm disagreeing with some of my compadres by saying this - we're going to need at least a few more enhottenators. Especially for Mills.

Also, next week's axons should be interesting... hey aliendial, do you have any interesting anecdotes about beekeepers running into issues with the police? Cos the mother of all security concerns is invading campus next Wednesday. The idea of encountering some suspicious Secret Service agents is simultaneously amusing and horrifying, if you know what I mean. Let's hope next week's passphrase isn't as apocalyptic as in past weeks... Confused
