[DEAD SERIES] Can We Hit Rewind? Hello ladies and gentlemen,
The following is a trailhead that arrived in my cl00 inbox.
Link to the YT video here: http://www.youtube.com/user/CarleeCreamPuff/
Looks like Carlee's friend is missing.
Anything that we can do to help is appreciated. Game on!

I'm having a hard time taking this one seriously. I'm three videos in, and I cannot concentrate on it at all. It's just not very well written.
I'll try to hack my way through it, but I'm not very hopeful.

The friend takes out her videos but she comments on them. She mentions "It was mostly static" and "footage from some old movie" and then "some words"... so, basically half the videos from TTA.
This is a perfect example of how a good advice con turn wrong. You have to give us some info on the characters so we can care for them, but you have to do it in an entertaining way. With this we have 7 videos about her and I really don't care. Give us some slender reason to care about the videos too.
Remember that MH had SM in their second video and it worked fine.
Also: The girl does deserve some attention. If I were her I'd prefer constant trolling over no one watching the videos.

Which is precisely why we decided to take them down. ;]
Believe me when I say that Dawn and I are trying our best with the pacing of the story and what's revealed and when. We had a long conversation earlier about how we can start getting things to pick up and get more people interested. I know that it's boring right now, I'm right there with you on that, but we're trying to get the transition from somewhat-regular-blog to slender-blog to be a smooth one. It may seem to be going too slow [even I think so], but again, it's something we're working on.
TL;DR - Don't worry; we're trying.
Thank you so much for your comment. Every bit of constructive crit is much appreciated and helps us more than you can imagine. We want to know what you guys want, so feel free to suggest how we can make something better at absolutely any time and we'll listen.

And BOOM goes my suspension of disbelief.
You should really avoid talking with your viewers when the whole medium is based on pretending everything is real.
And as far as I'm concerned you have taken too long to start the slender action. Imagine that you hit it big and in 3 or four months a new viewer wants to get into the show. He'll have to watch hours of nothing before getting to what he came for. That kills the possibility of new viewers.
MH had a SM in the second episode.
EMH had the fake one and small references since day 1.
TT had it since the second or third episode.
You have to rill the new audience while leaving a trial back that could interest new viewers.

I'm sure you've noticed by now that posting in-character on here is generally avoided. And please, do excuse me if I want to make friendly conversation and assure people that we are indeed working on making it better.
Also, not everyone who does a slender-vlog absolutely has to throw SM in right away. Sure, MH, TT, and EMH are regarded as 'the main trio', but there are also other vlogs that follow what we're doing - going slow for a few videos before introducing SM.

Hi Sabrina!
It's good that you guys seem to be pretty aware of the kinks you have to work out. I found the pacing a bit slow but again, that's something you seem to be aware of... I think it's kind of a lose-lose situation when it comes to introducing Slendy into a vlog because you will always have that dichotomy where some viewers will complain that it's too soon, while others will think it isn't soon enough (at least this is my experience). I suppose it's just something you'll have to feel out for yourselves.
I wish you guys good luck reworking everything, because I would really like to see a vlog series with female protagonists finally take off. You seem really nice and open to suggestion which means you are already ahead of the game, lol... just refrain from posting in this forum (doesn't matter if it isn't "in character", it's still immersion-breaking to have a PM around discussing their product) and you are good to go. We know now that you are working on it, so you won't have to reassert the fact in the future. :-]

I don't know Mira. Would you really watch 10, 12 or 15 videos of sort of boring or completely boring story if you start something knowing it will be a slendervlog?
In the best of cases people would skip a lot of them, making them useless, and in the worst they will stop watching.
Imagine X-Files with half a season and no aliens or paranormal beings, just Mulder and Scully getting to know each other and hitting some clubs. Or 4 episodes of LOST without anything weird happening in the island. Or 2 episodes of Heroes without superpowers. Or 1 episode of 24 without terrorism and stupid characters.
People want to see a SlenderStory and one needs Slenderman. It's a common mistake to not present your characters, yes, but you need an equilibrium. The big three did it right. I don't want to insult the girls, but if they were going to rip so badly TTA they could have taken more important and universal things from MH.
Still, now I'm up to date (skipping at least half of each episode) and I'll follow them some more episodes to see how things turn out.

Good point Azare, as I definitely found myself wanting to skip videos in this particular instance (I may as well come clean, I didn't make it past the third video before I started trying to skip ahead).
I personally don't care how soon the Slenderman reveal comes, but there definitely needs to be SOMETHING aside from incessant monologuing going on to hold my interest... the "show" versus "tell" rule in writing also applies to video storytelling so far as I'm concerned. I really didn't need to watch a character mill around for six minutes outside in the dark reiterating how cold and "freaked out" she was when her house is right the fuck there. I would rather feel for myself that there are some strange goings-ons than be told secondhand that that's how I'm meant to be feeling.

I would totally watch this. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are two of the sexiest people alive.
But that's not the point here, and I actually agree with you. I think that I've watched about half of each video, and I had trouble doing that. I follow Angel's Game as well, and it suffered from the same problem at the beginning. The key is to have action, instead of just *point camera at face* *talk for ten minutes*.
Again, just my opinion. Make of it what you will.

My friend and I were about to look this one over. Is there even a slondor sighting yet to anyone that has watched all of them?

I'm up to date. No slendersightings as far as I have seen. Weird dreams, although not that scary, and some video problems.
I really like the simbology in MLAnderson0's dreams.
