Yeah. Call me a prude, but in my house, you only drop F-bombs if you're serious. Noah's constant cluster F-bombs for no particular reason just make me cringe.

(Pre-Posted Edit: Damn, 8bitFilk beats me to it again! Razz Said much more straight-forward than I was trying to say it.)

I honestly don't have much of a problem with cursing in general. It's the overabundance of unneccessary cursing in TT that's annoying. It's actually comical, honestly - my brother and I have had quite a few laughs at the expense of Noah's strings of 'fuck fucking fuck fuckity fuck-fuck'. It's like the teenage kid who curses a lot so he seems cooler and more mature, but ultimately just sounds really silly cussing at really awkward and inappropriate times.

In terms of that, I think MH definitely takes the more prudent route by pretty much swearing off swearing (heh) entirely, but EMH seems to have a good balance of keeping-it-real but also not overdoing it. They each how their own niche in that sense, though, so I could see why people flock to TT for its much darker take on the mythos. I just find it amusing, personally.

This amused me way more than it probably should have. Smile

What I hate the most about TT and EMH is the stuff in some of their entries that's just totally irrelevant to the series, like Noah's Thanksgiving dinner/Wii Sports entry? And the ten minute walk in the park entry from EMH. I mean, MH has some filler, and a few entries where not much happens, but it always maintains the creepy/suspenseful atmosphere.

Yeah, i feel the same way in that there is just too much filler in both EMH and TT that is irrelevant and even relevant at some points that are just too far drug out (noah's circle cursing bush stabbing adventure around the exterior of his house)

In EMH the park video does prove to be significant. Later hidden videos and other events point back to that day. Something could have happened there that we are not fully aware of or the park itself is a significant location. With that, I don't tend to see the Day in the Life video as filler.

With EMH, everything has a bit of significance. There really doesn't seem to be any filler.

I had assumed the locations would be important later, but still..... did it have to be a ten minute boring video just to show an important building or whatever it was in the woods? I just can't help but compare it to MH, which does it so much better. Like Entry #34; it's a four minute entry of Jay walking around a house that's not important until later, but it's chock-full of suspense, and it answers at least one question brought up previously. #31, the ToThePark entry, is the same way, and it has, in my opinion, one of the coolest parts of any entry.

Marble Hornets will always be my first SM love. It scared me so bad that I spent weeks going through UnForum to desensitize myself.

On the other hand, I have a soft spot for Tribe Twelve. Noah seems like a person to me where Jay kind of seems like a robot or something.

Also, my friend and I have made up a drinking game for TT. It started out as taking a shot every time Noah dropped the F-bomb. However, counting 16 in the night filming video, we are working on making changes.

Here's an idea:

Noah Stabs a Bush: One Drink

Noah stays with Hot Chicks and doesn't 'hit it': Two drinks

Noah's Gross Ass Feet on Video: One Drink

Noak Looks like he Hasn't Bathed: One Drink

Build from there. Laughing

There is just no way TT can beat out MH in my book. Both 'Thanksgiving' videos were just... they were awful in the worst way. Noah standing outside laughing and slowly turning around to reveal himself covered in blood, rushing her, and then grinning like a maniac at the camera? REALLY? The actors in Marble Hornets aren't very good, but at least the series hardly relies on them to act. They know how to play to their strengths, and TT just...doesn't.

This is an extent. His "jog at the camera with a wide-eyed grin" made me laugh.

I still find TT to be an enjoyable series, but not for all the same reasons I enjoy MH.

I don't mind the cursing at all, because like others, I curse often also. heh. It seems pretty natural, if you're going through the things Noah is, to talk like that. I just like how MH doesn't because it sounds more...refined? Dunno if that's the word I'm looking for exactly, but I'm sure you guys know what I mean. >_>

Dont mean to sound like a jerk or anything, but when people are truly scared, truly horrified because of traumatizing circumstances they usually lose most ability to swear, and when they do it will be few and far between. So, TT isn't convincing for me, you just dont go around dropping 30 F-bombs when being stalked by a supernatural being, usually you would start weeping, running, having an anxiety attack. Basically anything but swearing.

oh, and MH all the way. The first is usually the best.

I dunno... my girlfriend suffers night terrors. When they kick in she usually jumps out of bed shouting "What the fuck?!" over and over again until she comes to and realises where she is. It's a pretty intense swearathon when it happens.

Then again, that's a more visceral, immediate terror than the creepy, paranoid fear in TT and MH.

Can't argue with that.

...Yeah. Pretty much. haha
I'm beginning to get more into the 'character' part of MH though now. TT's recent video that he posted last night was pretty neat. EMH is a lot to follow if you haven't been there from the beginning but I like the characters.
