I just heard from Wes on his cell phone. He was standing in the woods
across the street from Dale's burned out house, waiting for something to
happen. He said he hadn't seen anyone there yet at that point. He also had just said that it was starting to get really dark and so he decided to walk over to Dale's home, and his cell cut out. I tried to call him right back, but can't get through. Damn!
I'll let you when if I hear from him again.

I'm hearing reports of a fire on Winton Pond Road now, which is the street
Dale's house is on. Too many calls for me to try and stop, too. It won't be
long until either the Police or the Fire Dept. or both will be there.
No answer on Wes' cell phone either. Actually, it's not even ringing. It just
keeps repeating the "Your call cannot be completed" line.
Please, please let me know if you or anyone else hears anything!

I'm sorry it took a while to get back to you and everyone else, but I
spent the late afternoon and early evening hours sleeping since I didn't get
much at all last night. I didn't really intend to, I actually went home from work a little early with the hopes of finding Dale or possibly even Wes there, but no luck. I even drove by Dale's house but couldn't get close to it as they have the whole thing cordoned off now. I'm trying to be patient and believe that Dale is going to show up like these damn guides said he will, but, like you, my faith in them is severely shaken. The ironic thing is, as you probably know, Wes was the one who was questioning them and what their motives might be from the beginning, always telling Dale to be careful in dealing with them.

Anyway, once I was home I sat down to relax for just a minute and the next thing I know I was asleep. Speaking of Wes, I've been trying to call his house, cell phone, and shop all day with no answer anywhere. I even asked Chief Dawn about filing a missing persons report for him but she got really weird with me when I did and started asking why I thought he was missing and what did I know I wasn't telling etc. Finally, I told her he was supposed to meet me last night but never showed up. She said I was over reacting and should wait at least until tomorrow and see if
he shows up. So much for "official" help.

One strange but possibly bright note however. After I woke up from my
little nap, I tried Wes's phone numbers again. I finally got an answer at
his shop. That girl that works there sometimes for him was there; I guess she was scheduled to work this evening for him or something. Anyway, when I asked if she had seen or heard from Wes she said, "No, Mr. Greene, but there is a note hear for you from him." "A note?" I asked. And she said, "Yes, you know, a letter. It says 'For Sam'." So I'm on my way to pick it up. After that, I'm going to go into the Municipal
Building for a short while as I've got some catching up to do. I'm
restless anyway until there's some word from either Dale or Wes. Please let me know if you hear anything at all. By the way, your speculation about "the numbered ones" is interesting but I really have much time to even think about what it might mean. Let me know what else you come up with.
