Yup. TribeTwelve is definitely the new Valve, and Noah is Gabe.

Ya might enjoy the show more if you take a second and climb down off the high horses and chill out.

"You can't criticise free entertainment" is one of the most poisonous pieces of dumbfuckery floating around the scene.

Look, criticism is good. The unexamined life is not worth living, right? If you want to talk about double standards, let's look at the people bitching out folk with genuine concerns as to the direction and sustainability of the series - a series which NIMBUS HIMSELF ADMITS HAS BEEN IMPROVED BY THE CRITICISM IT'S RECEIVED. Gah.

Hey, Bartok: I fully accept that Nimbus's schedule doesn't allow him to update TT more frequently. But that's kind of the problem. You can't have a "rising build up" and all that crap unless you have actual pacing, and you can't establish pacing unless you're able to produce a certain minimum level of content. One major update per month just isn't regular enough because you can't sustain tension that long; the audience has already relaxed again before the next update, so all the effort gone into establishing rising tension is basically wasted.

This is a horror, story, right? PACING IS EVERYTHING IN HORROR. Absolutely everything. It's simply too important to ignore.

To be honest, if TT can't update more regularly than this I see only two ways it can go:
- Bring forward the end so that Nimbus can move on to another project in a format less dependent on pacing.
- Go a different route from the rising tension model. If each update is going to be rare, have each update be a seriously *MAJOR* update. Make sure really big events happen in each one, make sure each one answers at least a few of the ongoing mysteries, make sure each and every update actually *advances the plot* as opposed to being just "weird shit happens, Noah poops himself yet again". If we've got to wait, make it worth the wait.

This latest thing with the tweets is just frustrating beyond words because Nimbus teased us with the tweets in a way which made us all think we'd get a major update, and then the much-hyped return to Victor Park is narrated in a handful of tweets, some twitpics, and a promise of maybe a video next month, possibly. I just don't think, on it's current schedule, TT can afford to tease its audience like this. Right now, if the updates aren't actually enough to merit the wait, I'd rather he not updated at all.

Also Nimbus's increasing willingness to break immersion (see the I Troll You comic) makes me suspect he's started to simply not give a shit.

Thank you for proving and outlining my point for me. No where did I say "You can't criticize free entertainment" I said maybe if people came off the high horse and chilled, then they might enjoy the free entertainment more. Big difference.
Its pretty droll to hide behind the "criticism is good" argument just so everyone can openly complain (and thereby not receive any criticism for doing so ironically) and bitch about a free show.
GOOD criticism IS helpful I totally agree, but neither you, me or any other poster here can claim film director or academy credentials now can we? So what's with all this ridiculous intellectual blathering about buildup and pacing?
Its a YOUTUBE video series lmfao stop posturing and relax.

By all means, state your complaints I'm not trying to stifle that... just be aware that your opinion is not a club to be swung about in frustration or impatience. Laughing LIKE POSTING SENTENCES IN CAPS TO MAKE A POINT IS DUMBFUCKERY of the highest degree gah.

Quit trolling. I don't need a single credential to make good criticism; if my point is good, it can stand on its own merits, and I don't see you making a serious effort to actually tackle any of the points I raised.

You do not need to be a director to realise you are watching a bad film, any more than you need to be a world-class chef to realise that you've been served a turd sandwich.

@Slendery: MH are worse when it comes to any form of update? Really? Because they've had at least one per fortnight during this season, and when real life hasn't dicked them over have been managing 1 per week.

I don't actually expect Nimbus to be able to keep up that sort of update schedule because he's one guy, the MH dudes are a team, we can both do the math there. But because he can't keep up that sort of schedule, he needs to change up the model he's using to account for that rather than hoping we'll remain engaged and curious for an entire month between updates.

As I said on the TT Facebook group earlier tonight, maybe you're pissing him off to the point where he's intentionally delaying.

Yes, Nimbus is a massive troll. But he's still putting a fuckload of effort into this, and deserves the respect due for that effort.

Listen to what Cougar says.
*nodnod*

if the lack of updates bothers you this much then just..don't watch the series or something?

oi. do i need to separate you folks?

everyone take a nice deep breath and relax. i flail over the slowness of updates as much as the next person, sure, but i'm confident that our darling noah will make it worth the wait.

remember that text-based communications are easily misconstrued and that folks can come across as more snappish than they intended. can we all just take a step back and go back to babbling about crazy theories and bizarre hypotheticals?

It's going to be great when it turns out everyone on this thread was Noah the whole time.... Biggest troll ever. XD

But anyway, let those who want to criticize a series criticize it, let those who want to analyze, analyze it, and let those who want to enjoy it, enjoy it. Doesn't matter. We're all here to do all those things anyway so why complain about complain about liking something in a way someone else doesn't like it?

I'm just hoping Noah doesn't decide "screw it, the end" and purposely leave us hanging after that little romp through the park. Hopefully there'll be a "cap" on the series if this really is the end.

You forgot option number 3, which is have an extended hiatus of the show ala Marble Hornets and produce content over the break so that when the series comes back he has more to work with and can release new episodes on a more frequent basis. That's the reason TV shows have seasons, the break gives them time to get ahead for the upcoming season and they're not trying to do everything at once.

Sense. Raven makes it. Personally, I thought the live tweets were really exciting, and I think a little radio silence can be expected. I think we can all agree that when this series delivers, it really delivers, and that takes a lot of work. I love it, and I'm going to keep watching until endgame.

As far as his OOG attitude goes, I can say with 100% certainty that it is not because he's "started to simply not give a shit." He's a good guy who happens to have a sense of humor and is doing things his own way. If you don't want to break the immersion, ignore posts by REDACTED and you'll be fine.

Everyone needs to take a chill pill and enjoy the ride. In the end, Noah is gonna do what he wants and no amount of theorizing OOG endgame ideas is gonna dissuade him from that path.

Find your way to #habitsangora. Look in the EMH topic. You need to be debriefed, it seems.

Stop trolling? That's hella funny coming from the person making ignorant complaints in a thread to provoke arguments instead of discussion! I'll stop when you stop "trollasaurusrex" Laughing
You're right; You don't need to credentials to complain and bitch but you DO need them for anyone to take you seriously and not roll their eyes at you acting like a pretentious donkey.

My point stands- you are neither a director or a chef so complain all you want about your turd sammich just quit trying to share it with us already

RavenofRoses...thank you for your concern but this is a discussion thread and disagreements happen here, awakeasaurusrex and I are not enemies so do you mind if we debate without the "oh no its a disagreement I better step in" routine?
