A thought on ?where:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The top coat of arms is the University of Glasgow. Salmon, bell...

And:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The one underneath is the seal of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

EDIT: Also, I translated the ring of Morse code on the back of the package.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

After fiddling - it's likely my original transcription was wrong, because it took me forever to get this right - I get HARANGUS CLUPEA.

Aka... the Atlantic herring.
written in red. With red spraypaint.

Get it?!!? *trout*

Do we have definite confirmation that the Forest in Tarot by Saranna is the Forest from FFEYT? If they're going to intertwine that might be quite cool, but its a lot to keep up with! (sorry, "with which to keep up"!) And to be perfectly honest, I've lost track of Tarot a while back - its been insanely busy here you wouldn't believe.

I might confirm with FFEYT a bit later.

EDIT: Updated the timeline on the wiki with the first few puzzles:

Nutley, I am curious as to how you found the video. Were you working on the third set? That's how I found it.

The third set:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
First off, the music to the video. I figured it out the second time I listened to it, Shelley covered the understandable lyrics that start later in the song, by panning a bunch gibberish to the right. Found this out when using really nice headphones, and listening with one ear. The words are the first to lines in the song "Return of White Rabbit" by the band Ash.

The script underneath reads ?Al you need is. I assumed the next word would be love.

One picture is of Moulin Rogue. It gives a time, and when I looked it up at that time in the movie they are having a discussion about love. The Chinese character that also appears stand for love.

Also, Forest made a comment on the last ?what picture. The letter that it appears he wrote, to Barbara(?), who in the grave video it is stated she is dead and lies with him in the grave...

I got a message from FFEYT on Flickr:

Quote:

Subject: Look under the labels Friend

There are three sets - of this you are aware.
But within each set are problems so beware.
Choose one tag at first, and open the luggage there.
Friend, tread lightly, safe journeys, take care...

Also, just noticed the picture of Saranna on the flickr photostream so I guess I retract my previous question as to whether they're linked.

Hmm... looking at the tags:

1: 45.5 with the tag "Little Hand".
If the little hand is at an angle of 45.5 then it will be at around 8 minutes past the hour. Conversely, it could also just as simply be at 45.5 minutes past the hour. I just can't get to grips with even the "question" of these pictures, let alone the answer. What are we looking for, we can continue to pick them apart but we won't know where to stop if we don't know what format the answer is supposed to be in.

Also - the red herring picture was, supposedly, taken on June 17, 1902 - just looking up the relavence of this date now. But as Ofiuco said, we've had red herrings in the past Very Happy

I'm with distilled on the questions...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
When seems obvious
How has me confused - maybe the red herring is the hotel? 1902?
Where has me confused too as I can't link the house to anything, in fact I cannot even identify the house. I got the glasgow uni crest and the white arrow pointing to glasgow(ish)

Going to hit the wheres again then go onto Tag 3.

ANyone have anything to contribute?

Shelley made a comment on Saranna's blog yesterday - http://tarotbysaranna.blogspot.com/2011/03/happy-ides.html#comments

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Looking at the new Hanged Man card, the binary has changed.
It now reads 169 75 192 153 179 3
The original was - 169 75 192 200 137

Also, some more I forgot to add about the video on the third tag-
The bust is of Alexander the Great, and the Greek letters underneath translate as such.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dm2q2MIHnY
http://lyrics.wikia.com/Ash:Return_Of_White_Rabbit

First link is the official "Return of White Rabbit" youtube video. The second is an awesome animation to go along with it, and the last link holds the lyrics.

There is also a map in the video with Glasgow on it...

Man. Finals pull me away for a few days and all of a sudden, poor Forest's dead and there's a possible crossover. So much reading to do!

I do appreciate that in the READ BEFORE CONTINUING set on Flickr he has a picture of a red herring (result #6 in a google image search) to tell us to ignore the 131 thing and pi. He's a pretty awesome PM.

Someone said that tag 3 had a letter to his wife? Was that http://www.flickr.com/photos/whiterabbit2011/5518710056/in/set-72157626219713458/? And, more importantly, is the full thing available online somewhere?

Merely a theory. I do not know whom that letter was directed to but it seemed like a reasonable idea.

Guys! Guys! Does anyone have an Android phone or iPhone that can use this app to identify the painting in the 104.5 set?

Has anyone found FFEY-T conspicuously silent? I wrote him an e-mail, but no response. Ergo, not yet in.

Well I spent 3 days looking at the Where picture then decided to get my ruler out and a map and came up with a theory. Emailed it to Forest earlier today and got it right!

?Where - solved. Well done to @5tr1ng ... 2 tags to go...

For those of you that care to know more PM me.

Here is an IM between Forest and myself a few minutes ago:

forestfredericedwardyeothomas: String - are you there?
string: yes
string: Are you alright?

forestfredericedwardyeothomas: Yes. We are... calmer.
forestfredericedwardyeothomas: We wanted to thank you. Your card and words... Thank you.

string: That is quite all right, and good of you to say so.
string: I was at a bit of a loss as how to help, I'm glad I reached you.
Is there anything I can do for you?

forestfredericedwardyeothomas: You have mail by the way...
string: Thank you, I will look immediately
string: Ah! I am happy Smile
string: Replying with my address...

forestfredericedwardyeothomas: A jigsaw is easier when you have a picture, no? Or at least the edge pieces in place...
forestfredericedwardyeothomas: Well done.
forestfredericedwardyeothomas: Onto the next...

string: I prefer pictures yes. Thank you. Yes, onwards and upwards
May I ask a simple question?

[Forest signed off]

TinEye it?

Otherwise, I can probably do this, just not at the moment!

EDIT: YT nudged me to remind me what game I was playing. I looked at the string that was hidden in the package; it appears to have morse code. MORSE CODE ON A STRING. I never would have thought of that. It seems to say 'ZYT', which means 'Check your thyratrons'. Or maybe it means 'Forward this message'.

I just want to know what a thyratron is.

Shelley is trying to prod us along with a bunch of comments over on Flicker. They contain some rather useful hints, for the images we have yet to solve.
