Anybody got some good ideas how we can best utilize our 'day off'? It would be cool to band together and report some real advances while he's away, lol.
He/she/they is exceedingly clever, but like 'strength in numbers' surely a collective reconnaissance effort should yield some significant progress...

Competition is cool, but unity is useful.

I agree -- however, I will be away from home most of the weekend and limited in my ability to work with the team. This is why I am "dumping" my ideas in the thread in case it assists someone else.

As a funny aside I was talking with Forest through Twitter messages.

IRC

Good idea. If anybody's on there, send @pbemaddy a DM Tweet with the link. I'll get it immediately via my cell and hop on if available to chat!

Finally sat down and worked out that the mysterious pages in my parcel were these pages:

http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Page:Three_Books_of_Occult_Philosophy_%28De_Occulta_Philosophia%29_%281651%29.djvu/154

My copy, which is in latin, starts with the last line of the poem (although it's not the last line as translated, but rather, 'Ancipiti gyro uolui, frangiq, rubore').

http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Page:Three_Books_of_Occult_Philosophy_%28De_Occulta_Philosophia%29_%281651%29.djvu/155

It ends on the next page with the line 'And this is often found, that in times of Pestilence many that are carried for dead to the graves to be buryed, revive again.'

http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Page:Three_Books_of_Occult_Philosophy_%28De_Occulta_Philosophia%29_%281651%29.djvu/156

Also, there's a letter Z written in white crayon by the lines 'ribus suis latere uehementloribus extasibus oppressas, & ab omni corporea actione solutas, siou uita, sensus, motus'. But there are no other letters that I've found yet.

Intriguingly, it deals with reviving the dead. I found it odd that YT seemed to be perturbed at things dealing with his death, although he knew full well from the start of the game that he was dead and made multiple references to it. So I can only assume that whatever bothered him was something beyond that.

Lastly, I am going to be out of town all next week and away from the clues, so if there's anything anybody would like me to do as regards those clues, let me know ASAP.

Another way to convert the Hanged Man binary is base 2 to base 10.
101010010100 = 2708

YT is being rather insistent, so here's an original copy of the manuscript pages.

I have been too busy for this over the weekend but now...

In the interests of sharing all we can in order to crack this here is an email and reply I sent to Forest/Shelley a couple of days ago.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
From: -string-
To: Forest frederic edward Yeo-thomas <forestfredericedwardyeothomas>
Subject: Hessel

Shelley,

A question if you please...

Did you ever call Stéphane Frédéric Hessel friend? Does it warm your heart to see him still so active and passionate after all these years?

Thank you,

-string-

The Reply:

Hessel - we...we forgot... he almost met Ixtab... we... we are confused - he is old?
Why?

Maybe if a few more seemingly random bits of info were posted something might click?

Also, the answer I sent Shelley has been posted under the where? picture on flickr. Here it is:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Solved:
An edited version from 5tr1ng:

Where: Villa Diodati, Near Geneva - Where Percy and Mary Shelley stayed with Byron and Mary wrote Frankenstein.

Where: Munich University Ludvig Maximilian - Where Luigi Galvani was known to have worked. Luigi was part of the inspiration for Mary Shelleys Frankenstein novel. We have already gone over his work woth "re-animating" frogs legs using electricity.

Where: Glasgow Unversity - Another scientist known as Andrew Ure was also purported to be inspiration for the main character in Mary's book Frankenstein. He became professor of chemistry and natural philosophy at Anderson College, Glasgow, around the 1800's.
In 1818 he created a public sensation when he announced that he had been carrying out experiments on a murderer after his execution. Ure claimed that by stimulating the phrenic nerve, life could be restored in cases of suffocation, drowning or hanging.

This should be the cornerstone now for others to be solved...
Up to you..

Also an english translation of the Occulta Philosophia is available here:

Cheers,

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I believe I have solved the Mayan segment. It is not 1418 but 1818, a year which Forest mentions in his description of the ?Where photo as Andrew's release about his experiments. Amusingly, this is also the year the Frankenstein was published.

Unfortunately, that is only one of the five years we need to solve the tarot card.
Forest told me that "One year is not enough-there are 5 numbers to be understood"

Edit[Will be adding as I go along]----

Added the bottom two binary lines- 1801, the year Andrew Ure earned his M.D. from Glasgow.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Ure

Top two lines- 1782, the year Luigi Galvani was elected the "professor of obstetric arts at the Istituto delle Scienze."
http://www.encyclopedia.com/topic/Luigi_Galvani.aspx

Starting to wade into some unsure territory here....

Added the First and Third lines- 1881, the only date I can find of significance is the death of Edward Trelawny a close friend of Percy Shelley in the year 1881. Please note while I am comfortable with the first two I am grasping a straws now.
http://www.xs4all.nl/~androom/biography/p002439.htm

Last thought for now.

Added the first line and the last line- 194 15, and while that technically isn't a year it is interesting to note that in 1941 the original F.F.E.Y.-T joined the Special Operations Executive. Really, really uncertain with this one, however this does make 5 years...

Looked through thread but don't see these things posted about the video included in luggage tag 3

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Stuff going across screen is morse code which translates to:
Name?
Age?
Role?

Also, Moulin Rouge could possibly refer to Jean Moulin, the fellow who unified the French resistance
