It is time and there are things that you must know.

The one you have sought to help has returned to us, but his way has not
been easy. He needs care that only we can provide, at least for a short
while. He shall be returned to you very soon.

Despite this, there is much cause for concern. Someone within the
sphere of those who have tried to help has betrayed us. The Numbered Ones knew where the fire would be lit and came sooner and with greater force than anticipated. Only the bravery and sacrifice of the one you call "Keeler" allowed the sacred wood to be fully consumed in flame and the portal opened. We fear he is in their hands and will soon be in the place that bears their name. A place from which no one returns.

They will not allow our small success to go unpunished. Soon the second ring shall be summoned, if they have not been already. When they do, their identity will no longer be concealed.

And now, his need is even greater. His first step has been completed. The
length of his journey depends upon the direction of his second step.

A fire has broke out at Aglaura and contact with those who are there
assisting him has been cut. Now we are in the dark. How can we be his
light? We need you to help us help Dale. We need your help NOW!!!

Please respond quickly, every second counts.

First, the Numbered Ones - could they be the police? Summoned and in greater numbers than expected? Wes is taken away for arson and won't be released from the police station (the place that bears their name).

Second, the second ring. They aren't friends; they are foes. Soon, they will appear and we will recognize them. Currently, we're doing battle with the first ring.

spec: The graffiti will be amended and a second ring will be added.

Third, The Dead. Great movie. Strongly recommended. I vividly remember the part in it where they say "one by one, they were all becoming shades."

 		"The second ring" is mentioned in a Carlos Castaneda book (The Second Ring of Power)...

My take on the use of "has returned to us", is that Dale has "returned" to the Place/Time/Plane in which he began....before The Wish...before the death of his family....the Place/Time/Plane where Ash Grove Park exists as an amusement park.

Dante's Inferno

According to Dante, there are nine rings of hell. Sinners are assigned to a circle based on how badly they've behaved during their lives.

I know this refers to "location"....but could there be "gatekeepers" of sorts for these Rings? Just some bored spec...Smile

The guardian to the second circle/ring of Hell in Canto V (Dante again), and the monster responsible for assigning shades to their proper circle by wrapping his tail around his body a certain number of times, corresponding to the number of the circle to which they are condemned.

From what I can figure out (I've never actually studied Dante) The Shades are the souls of the damned. Possible connection of The Dead Eyes to The Shades?
