wait. So what was the answer? That last frame looks like some stop-motion animated short -- which would not qualify as a title shown in theaters, would it?

Rogi is correct. He reincorporated the short (which was not stop-motion animated, those are actual people, one of which is Naomi Watts, wearing rabbit heads), into a larger feature that was shown in theaters.
