Here's the PTC links. Originally one was used by each character (Nightcrawler and Specter respectively) but things have gotten messy since then. Fortunately, most posts are signed so it isn't that confusing.

Just reiterating what I said in the EMH and TT threads:

I fucking loved this. This was like crack for me. Of course people will complain about this, this was perfectly fine because the characters were acting ingame and nothing was outrageous, like out of game acting. It was a small crossover with no harm done. And this was probably just a one time thing and people should stop getting butthurt over it, lol. Rolling Eyes

Also, it was EMH's first birthday (this was their present maybe?), and it actually fit into Noah's story of him trying to find answers after being gone for a week rather well. Everybody wins! Very Happy

Well said, sir. It was Seeking Truth's birthday today too, so I'm sure that was a double present for them. I'm just bummed I missed it XD;

I think Vinnie/the Voyeur is an antagonist - but not HABIT. Maybe a pure Slendy devotee. He started EMH. He was the host. He came up with the title.

Not disagreeing with your entire argument, i just remember when someone asked who came up with the name Jeff answered saying something like he thinks he did. Weather this is a mis-direct or not i'm not sure, just thought i'd metion it.

Yeah, last night in chat Jeff said that he was the one who came up with the name. Also, I'm not sure if starting EMH is something that an antagonistic Vinnie would do. After all, by now it looks like Slendy would have shown up with or without their imitating him, and having a bunch of people watching doesn't seem to help the cycle along any. I don't know if we can stop it, per-say, but the fact that we'll be trying at all wouldn't seem to be in line with SlendyVinnie's goals.

Due to the celebratory nature of the chat we could barely get them to talk seriously about the box. They also took very blatant discussion of Evan/HABIT with good cheer if befuddlement. By that point I thought it was a wash and we couldn't begin to explain Vince and the Voyeur then and there. I do think another email to them about all the Everyman notes may be in order, but we may be too late to stop some of what's coming.

I don't know if I subscribe to the "Vince=Badguy theory" just yet.
The description given in the book for his Archetype the "Voyeur" doesnt sound too "evil" it seems more cowardly.

Furthermore, looking at the descriptions for all of the archetypes it seems like all three (Voyeur, Firebrand, Guardian) are doing "bad"(not sure if this is the best word for this) things.

Most importantly, the things revealed in these definitions (given to us by HABIT) is stuff we pretty much already knew or speculated. Basically, what im on about is I dont think we are supposed to convince them that Vince is Evil but that they are ALL on the wrong path and they ALL need to be adjusted.

The bulk of it is on the Nightcrawler blog. Specter's element was only recently introduced.

I liked the idea of the Nightcrawler blog early on as something unique, even though I thought it completely ruined the mystique of stuff like Victor Surge and MH. Existing on its own safely out of proximity of other series, it was at least diverting at first.

Then it became Call of Duty: SLONDORMONS. And then they showed up at the chat throwing sub-James Cameron Colonial Marine jibber-jabber around alongside EMH and TT and I thought, 'this is fucking stupid.'

I don't think the theory is really "Vince=Bad Guy" so much as it's "Vince's Actions Will End Badly". Remember that they've given us hints before that EMH is model after a traditional tragedy, and that the essence of tragedy is (sort of) "Man Brought Down by His Virtues".

So, I'm thinking Vince isn't a bad guy for (presumably) whatever secret dealings he's doing, and Evan isn't (or won't be) a bad guy for trying to battle HABIT on his own. They are (or will be) doing exactly what they think is best, for the best reasons, but the results will be much worse than they expect.

EDIT: Huh. The Voyeur's tragedy comes from operating separately, and in secret, from the group. The Firebrand's tragedy stems from trying to fight an internal battle by himself. The Guardian's downfall comes after he has been rendered alone, having lost his love and his family. There's a theme here, yeah? Maybe they can beat the baddies by watching Into the Woods.

Into The Woods is a Broadway musical that first premiered in the '80s and has been regularly revived since. It brings a lot of the classic fairy tales - the Baker and his Wife, Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood - together into the same story as each of the characters go on the quests outlined in their stories. They meet and get what they want. Then after all the happily ever afters, the giants Jack stole from come down off their beanstalk to destroy the world and everybody starts fucking and killing each other.

I am not a big Broadway queen but I have loved it since I was a child. It's pretty epic. The original show as broadcast on PBS is available on DVD.
