what's it about? i never heard of it.

qaqa's explanation is excellent. The most important thing to add is that big emotional climax is a song titled "No One Is Alone". It's worth checking out.

This is all assuming neither Vinnie nor Evan turn malevolent and that shit happens simply due to individual error. In point of fact, in Evan's case, I don't think he would turn malevolent; I think he would simply go mad or be taken over full time by HABIT.

If it happens due to their own choices and going it alone, as you say Matt, then yes, we have to tell them no one is alone. We can't let Jeff lose everything and if he does, we can't let him get so enraged that he challenges a god, alone. We can't let Evan slip away into madness and self-immolate. And if possible, we have to force Vinnie to talk about what he's doing. And I think you are eminently qualified to email EMH about the Vinnie issue if you so choose. You sound a lot saner than the rest of us. I was considering emailing them tonight about the cycle again to clarify after last night's clusterfuck as well.

DOH! I can't believe I missed the chat after all that happened yesterday! I don't know how much more could really have been found, I went over everything and just did so again. I missed nothing in the book. I really have no idea what we could have missed.

Also, if we had missed something, I would think Jeff would have messaged me back and he never did after I sent him one. If that was the goal of his having the chat at any rate, since I was not there for it. I'm at a loss right now having missed it though. Crying or Very sad

I don't know how to take the Vince/Voyeur connection either. I'm not willing to believe Vinnie would do anything bad, but I'm also not willing to ignore HABIT's intended insinuation. I think we are going to have to just start with being extremely vigillant. Basically don't fuck around when something looks amiss.

Into The Woods is a Broadway musical that first premiered in the '80s and has been regularly revived since. It brings a lot of the classic fairy tales - the Baker and his Wife, Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood - together into the same story as each of the characters go on the quests outlined in their stories. They meet and get what they want. Then after all the happily ever afters, the giants Jack stole from come down off their beanstalk to destroy the world and everybody starts fucking and killing each other.

I am not a big Broadway queen but I have loved it since I was a child. It's pretty epic. The original show as broadcast on PBS is available on DVD.

O_O. what an... interesting broadway qaqa....

That's Sondheim for ya. ;D

I really like this train of thought. I think it fits the feeling of the EMH guys as a big family, and more selfishly I enjoy the little bit of hope it gives. Now we just have to try to act, preferably in a way that doesn't involve sending the guys clips from musicals. xD Someone with a good email relationship with the guys ought to send them a little summary of our theories. And maybe we should try to be a little more delicate with our spitballing? They were taking it pretty well last night, considering, but I did get a feeling like Evan was getting a bit irritated at the HABIT talk. Now that we're about to (more or less) start launching accusations at Vince as well, we don't want to be too pushy.

I think it's more likely to be something we've seen and not analyzed correctly, rather than something we've missed altogether. The cars and the coins seem to be the least looked-over items. Frankly, though, I'm at a loss on those two. Could there be some sort of significance to the number of coins? I feel like it wouldn't just be a random number, especially with the one broken one.

Thanks for the clarification guys. For some reason I thought the general consesus was like "hey Jeff we think Vin is acting wierd you and Ev should drown him in a pool..." but it's more like "hey Jeff we think You, Ev, and Vin may make some bad decisions which may lead to you guys drowning Vin in a pool."

They took it a hell of a lot better than I'd expected, especially when we told them what happened with Evan talking to himself in "Ryan and the SEVENTRIALSOFHABIT" and that Jeff had filmed it. But I think much of that is due to the relaxed nature of the celebration chat - everything was not really 'official' per se, it seemed, and reactions were not all they could be. I think we'd be likely to get a much more intense reaction if we tried the same thing today or soon, which I don't think I advocate just yet. I don't know.

I don't trust Vinnie anymore. I think he has been plotting, maybe not for ill, but there's a lot that doesn't add up, like his phone being in the crawlspace. I suggest Mattwan, the sanest among us, talk to them about Vinnie and our theories, if he's up for it.

Hmm...something about the machete just does not seem right. There are screws in the hilt that can be removed. I almost wonder if I should take the damn thing apart and see if anything is inside.

I have no idea why it would be in there other than for weight. Also there was purple tape around said hilt to start with.

I told Jeff about the cars - model and make. He did not recognize them and blew it off with something like "lots of kids had that stuff." We told him everything we had.

LBY, has anyone asked you to check for a false bottom on either the box or the book? I know a couple people wondered about that last night.

Oh, holy shit. What if the drowning sections are about Jeff and Evan drowning Vinnie, i.e. making him swallow Justice's sword? I doubt they'll be very happy when they find out what he's doing, and if its bad enough that they try to kill him...

@qaqa, none of the boys are trustyworthy at this point.

I'm about to go through everything again! I'll be back. Might have to go back up there if we dropped someting (and to look formy friend's chain). Snow on the ground right now will make it difficult though. Sad

It sounds good.
I feel they really need to know indepth about the archetypes and how they correlate.
I think they all need to see the passages that were written in the book about the things they are going to do.
I also agree if Matwan is up for it he should open up a discussion with Jeff.
and if Matwan can't then i guess someone with a good record of correspondance.

That makes a lot of sense. I thought the same thing right after I posted.

They're all compromised, but we want to try and save them. And I think Vinnie may or may not be on his own agenda.
